Help Lock screen locks immediately.

When I go into settings under security I have a pattern set up for unlocking the screen. I have it timed to automatically lock after one minute. The only problem is it locks immediately. Any idea if there is a setting I'm missing somewhere? thanks

when you manually, "sleep" the screen by clicking the power button, it locks immediately.

I haven't read of any fixes or work a rounds yet :(

Think I figured it out. When you let the screen time out then it locks after designated time you've selected. When you press the power button to turn off the screen it locks immediately. Wish they didn't set it up like that I prefer to turn the screen off immediately with the power button.

Desirable or not, my HTC Droid Incredible (original) does not lock immediately with a press of the power button.

Let me clarify: I have my lock timeout set to five minutes.
If I press the power button, the screen turns off.
If I press power again (before the five minute timeout), the screen comes on and I can use the phone by simply swiping down. I do not need to enter a PIN or Pattern.

I like this behavior.
After five minutes, a pattern is required to access the phone.

In addition, I would like a button (setting/shortcut) with which to lock (pattern required to unlock) the phone immediately.

Thanks,
S

On 4.0.4 (and perhaps 4.0.3, but I skipped that version) Google added an option under security called "Power button instantly locks". It's enabled by default, but you can uncheck it to use the lock button as a screen on/off instead.

If you have a timeout set to lock the phone after n minutes, this will now only lock the phone after it's been idle for n minutes, regardless of whether you press the lock button or not.

That's been a long time coming. Worth the upgrade to 4.0.4 alone!

I am using ICS 4.0.3 on my S2 and I have PIN lock set to activate after 30 minutes. This works just fine if my screen dims and I have my phone in portrait mode. I don't need my PIN until after 30 minutes.

HOWEVER... if I rotate my phone into landscape mode (such as in the browser, facebook, etc) *BEFORE* the screen dims, when I click the main button, it ALWAYS goes into my PIN unlock. Immediately. Even though I have set it to 30 min.

I have tested this over and over and confirmed that it only happens when I'm in landscape. In portrait, it respects the 30 minute rule.

Please help! Am I missing something!?
