Need Some help with Fresh 2.0!

So after running the update, I installed all the normal stuff, And SetCPu being one of them...

I was then told that that would slow down my Hero and well not it is reading my cpu clock speed at 245..

I even tried to use the over clock widget but it still reads 245.

I can set it to 528 and all seems well until the screen goes off then its back to 245.

Any help would be great!!!
I am loving 2.1 on my hero but this speed thing is killing me!

What about task panel? And uninstall will fix the problem?

Is there a way to test my cpu to make sure it is no longer running at 245?

Thanks for the help!!

Uninstalling setcpu fixed my lag issue when I first put Fresh 2.0b on. I had setcpu on at first (first thing I put back on after the required reboot), and it lagged more than my hero did stock. The minute I uninstalled it and rebooted, lag was gone.

there's an app called "seepu" that will show how it's running, but it can be a battery hog from what I've read. Not sure if it shows numbers or not.

There shouldn't be any lag at all running Fresh 2.0, or at least very minimal lag. I found the ROM to be blazing fast compared to anything previous, except for Gumbo 2.1, that was just as fast.

I'm not sure what task panel is, but I'm assuming it's an app that shows what's running, much like a task killer. I'm not a fan of them at all.

Yep after uninstalling SetCPU and doing a reboot my phone is super fast!
Thanks!

What are the differences between this and damageless' ROM?

DamageControl is being updated this week, while Flipz is out of town for the next few days. So DamageControl is more complete. I believe there's 5 different devs working on debugging DamageControl this week, so it's progressing extremely fast. Wouldn't surprise me if by Saturday it's as close to perfect as we're going to get, until we get an official 2.1 release anyway.

In Fact, Fresh 2.0b2 is actually based off DamageControl, at least the kernel anyway, to get the camcorder working.

EDIT: Damageless is working on putting a FAQ in the first post of his, since it's moving so fast...or at least he was working on it last night when I mentioned it lol. Hopefully that will alleviate some of the same questions that keep getting asked in that thread (which is part of the reason you can't keep up with the thread)

I appreciate you taking the time to try to answer the question, they were pretty rude last night at xda. Unless its far better than 2.0b I'll probably just stick with this until the official ROM is released.

Lol, yeah, I saw that this morning. I don't blame them, I'm sure they're extremely tired of answering the same question over and over. I'm certain they didn't mean to come off quite so rude, they all seem extremely helpful

unfortunately.. the devs in general not as up on people skills as the members here.. but when they lack in people skills they MORE than make up for in coding skills..

I'd rather that they be rude and code like crazed monkeys than stop working to be nice... I do understand their frustration when a question has been answered hundreds of times before... all a person needs to do is read.. if they do that and then ask.. they normally get a better reply.

that said... it is the internet.. get a thick skin and don't take anything personally.. just ignore the rude parts and go stright to the meat of the answer...
