I'd say the small majority of then are of no interest to me, but FREE is definitely worth it.

I need an app that will convert a Word Document to a PDF file. I know that Documents to Go is in the Market, but the information doesn't say whether it will convert a DOC to a PDF.

Is anyone aware of an app or any other way to get this functionality on a XOOM?

You can upload the Word document to Google Docs and then download the document as a PDF. Requires access to the cloud, but is otherwise free.

To view PDF for free, get qPDF Viewer. For markups that you can read on other PDF readers, try qPDF Notes by Qoppa Software. Open any PDF, add text notes, highlights and free-form drawings, as well as fill interactive PDF forms. qPDF Notes accesses, saves, and sends PDFs via email, Dropbox, Bluetooth or SD cards.

During the .10 cent app specials I picked up the ezPDF Pro ...hands down the best PDF app I've used.

ezPDF reader has a few nits but I have to agree with you. The voice reading has made my graduate studying much easier.

I'm not able to save my annotations in ezpdf, for some reason. Anyone have an idea why? When I do a "save as" on the file, all that is saved is the original un-annotated file.

Aldiko is (in my not at all humble opinion) the best eBook reader on the Android platform. It interfaces with Calibre (which I also highly recommend) and does stuff you want.

My HTC Desire shipped with PDF Viewer as part of the ROM, which does a good job, so I have never tried a different one, but on the Xoom I installed the offcial Adobe Reader and it is really laggy compared to viewing PDFs in Quickoffice HD. I swiftly uninstalled Adobe Reader.

Read my post again. I did try Adobe Reader and it was very laggy with Android v3.2. I have sine gone GED with my Xoom and am running official v4.0.4, which included Quickoffice HD Lite, as opposed to Quickoffice HD in the European v3.2, and this is fine for my PDF viewing needs right now.
