I feel that whoever decided that the galaxy note LTE was ready to be released was wrong. I literally have to turn it off and put it away to stop myself from breaking it. I shouldnt have to pull a bunch of tricks out of my ass in order to get proper usage. I shouldnt have to deal with so much lag. I wish I had a Nexus. And I was a big advocate for this phone until it killed my patience. I wish I could express my anger to a real person

I bought this phone after using the 3GS for over two years. I have to admit, at first, I was a little overwhelmed with the Android OS. It took some getting used to. I don't experience any major lag on my Note. I can tell the difference in normal usage between this phone and my old phone. It isn't enough to wear on my patience at all though.

With that said, if I had major lag I wouldn't hesitate to take the phone back to ATT to get a replacement. I read that some people have 1-3 seconds of lag when accessing contacts or just unlocking the phone. I don't experience any of that. I think that if you are having these problems then just take the phone back to exchange for a non-defective unit. Certainly there's a problem with the phone if it is lagging this bad.

Well, that's like, your opinion, man...

I literally have to turn it off and put it away to stop myself from breaking it.

Angry, much?

I shouldnt have to pull a bunch of tricks out of my ass in order to get proper usage.

Define 'proper'? I've been using mine for a little over a month, and it's working 'properly' fine. Wonder what we might be doing different

I shouldnt have to deal with so much lag.

You have a lemon. Might want to consider returning it.

I wish I had a Nexus.

I wish you had one, too.

And I was a big advocate for this phone until it killed my patience.

That must not have been very long.

I wish I could express my anger to a real person

Real people don't exist. Only you are real.

I have to wonder if it's the phone or the apps so many are using which makes the phone lag. Lots of people seem to say they got a note as a laptop replacement lately also. If anyone expects to get the performance of a laptop from a phone even with a quad processor forget about it. The note can do many things and do them very well but it is what it is. To say it was not ready for Prime time is like saying ketchup tastes bad just because you don't really like it.

Lets consider what you actually get in such a tiny package and what all those other devices would cost you. P&S camera $100+ easy for true 1080p and those can't do even minor editing. GPS $150 even a device at this price most devices can't do 50% of what the Note does. Tablet $300 you wont get a cheap tablet with the capability of the Note in fact the responsiveness of the touch input wont even be close. Wacom your looking at easily $80 for one of these which does not even have LCD display integration for that your looking at hundreds of dollars. Mp3/Video Player $150 and up for the basic functionality with the ability to stream from online sources and XM or the likes would cost far more. Touch phone just that alone is worth an easy $100 but this is so much more.

So far we have 6 devices covered in a tiny package which even a laptop which is much larger can't offer. In fact there is nothing out there which can do everything the Note can do in a similar factor just yet. Now consider what the 1st Gen iPhone originally cost and how much the Note costs and this proves it to be a steal. There is so much more like the Flashlight feature where many phones don't even have an LED flash. I find it near useless for taking pictures but it does make for one hell of a flashlight which is easily another $20 value there. I calculate this phone to be worth around $900 and that's a conservative value based on entry level devices. If we matched every bit of functionality to specific devices dollar for dollar based on equal specs i'm sure it could easily go over the $1000 mark.

Simply not having to carry half a dozen devices makes it worth owning and more then ready for prime time.

I noticed the stock launcher lags quite a bit, but I rarely use it anyways. ADW Launcher EX with ICS theme is the shiznit, and very fast. In reality though it shouldn't lag that much stock, but ah well. With ICS I'll probably use TouchWhiz for awhile to see what it entails.

I don't know where to comment on your music (I don't do facebook).
I guess right here?
I must admit you guys work hard.

I must have gotten a different Note than you because coming from a 3GS and iPhone4...I love my Note.

All the gadgets I have turned my phone into...$5000 worth of stuff probably.

And GoLauncherEx is also the sh!tz! (though touch wiz is sooooo smooth).

yeah I've probably spent that much as well overall lol. I don't see TouchWiz as being smooth though. I feel like the screens take longer to swipe between. Is there a setting for this?

I personally (I'm the main vocalist) am very influenced by tBDM for sure. Musically I don't think the guys are huuuuuge fans like me, but our one guitarist is into them I'm sure. I appreciate you checking it out dude. We're also on Twitter if you do that @LucyParanormal. Once the album comes out this summer I can send you a rip of it if you'd like. I probably will for any of the folks here that want it. :) Thanks a lot dude!

Same here. Some of the smoothness is lost while moving homescreens around like I said above, but that's just the stock launcher. Everything else to me is just plain better.

I don't know why I said that tw was smooth. I only used it once for a few hours when I first got this phone. I just home switched over to it; no comparison to Go.

I did that factory reset thing for shits and gigs and my homepages scroll smoothly for me. There's some lag here and there sometimes on other thigns but not enough for me to complain about it.

When I tried the regular wipe (Settings>privacy) this did nothing in terms of the lag, but after I did the recovery wipe (phone off, hold down both volume buttons, power on, recovery, release volume buttons), the lag is much less. I still don't like the phone though...but that's just me.

Just curious... is the lag the only reason why you don't like the Note?

Here is my two sense. When people complain they should tell us who their service provider is and where they are and where they are when they are experiencing the worst lags. I think it makes a big difference. I think you also have to indicate if you've done a factory reset an/or you've exchanged the phone for another Note.

Not so sure the phone was released too early but perhaps more time was spent tweaking what will be the ICS OS than fixing Android 2.3.

Perhaps the processor isn't strong enough to power the screen, so an improvement there will help but it is a first time phone that pushed the envelope. You have to expect bumps in the road. Obviously, many are thrilled with it and are living with the problems hoping they will be fixed.

I was forced to wait because I am sticking with VZW so I want the faster processor and ICS but I would have purchased the Note in February has VZW offered it. Certainly, it's a thousand times better than my Blackberry Storm 2 and it has to be better with 4G LTE.

What some people experience has nothing to do with the screen or processing power. It's most probably an issue with the drive controller imho and not very likely a hardware issue that is causing it. Another problem i think some may be having is lack of ram which is compounded by the bloatware when they have to many things running.

What makes me think the drive controller/drivers is the problem is due to adding an SD card seems to amplify the lag. However i saw a video where one guy showed how a Gingerbread phone (not the note) actually spikes to 90% CPU usage just from sliding between screens. Again i doubt this to be a hardware issue considering it's not just the Note that does it which again an indication of crappy drivers or something Android specific.

After digging around and finding this i'd seriously wager it's not a hardware issue even to the smallest degree.

I hate stupid people. Im in Alaska and i have no issues with lag or anything. The last phone i had was the Motorola atrix (yes the original). It was a great phone in its time. This phone is awesome. I don't even have full time lte (its still in a test phase, hopefully will be full time end of 2012). There will always be some one to knock everything weather it is just to troll or cause they don't understand that not everything thing sold as the same product are EXACTLY the same. I just think of when mobile phones first became accessible to the "poor" (not rich) till now and even in this age this phone is above the rest.
