Root [CDMA] MeanROM issues....

Before we go any further, are you on the proper base, 2.17, it won't work unless you are on that base

Installation instructions:
First, the usual disclaimers. I supply the ammo, you use it. ROMS don't kill phones, n00bs do.

Use this ROM at your own risk as I won't be responsible for bricks or any other untoward happenings. I spent a lot of time ensuring that the stuff in this ROM is fast, smooth, and 2.17.651.5 compatible. But... it always helps to have some familiarity with flashing ROMs to keep yourself safe.

Before you Install, prepare:
  1. 2.17.651.5 ROMs need the latest firmware. See freeza's all in one firmware update if you haven't done that already. If you unlocked via the HTC method, you know the drill: you'll have to take the OTA and then re-unlock.
  2. If you are already running an older version of MeanROM, you should be OK just flashing this ROM without a full wipe, BUT...
  3. If you have any trouble at all, do a super wipe and then install the above firmware and this ROM
  4. Go to "Menu", "Settings", "Power" and UNcheck "Fast Boot". When you reboot or power off the phone, you really want it to reboot/power-off. This can save you a lot of headaches.

Yes my software number is 2.17.651.5......I did the super wipe and reinstalled the ROM but I still had the issue with wifi and DSPmanager

I lost my wireless after installing a custom kernel. If I was you, I would use FlashGUI to flash the stock image. MeanROM will put it into a folder on your SD card.

Okay, I'll give it a shot.....I had the same issue with my Hero when I flashed the Zero Hero ROM but now it is working fine. I turned it on with the intent to go back to CyanogenMod 7.1 but my wi-fi issue fixed itself....go figure.

I was having similar issues to yours with MeanRom 4.0. I was attempting to flash using the free version of 4EXT. I restored my Nandroid backup. A day or so later I flashed MeanRom 4.1 using ClockWorkMod from fastboot using my PC. I believe that this method properly flashed the new kernel bundled with MeanRom 4.X.

I will probably purchase the full version of 4EXT from the Google App Store and use the 4EXT Smart-Flash setting that seems to flash without issues (as reported on XDA Developers EVO3D CDMA Development Forum).

I purchased 4ext but I don't see the smart-flash option.....
