Alternative Facebook app?

Is there anything better than the official Facebook for android app?? Since the update mine has been acting up big time. Droid charge ftr.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling it. As for other apps, there are other ones in the Market but most people just prefer to use the browser and the mobile page.

The new Facebook app is much better than the old one. You may also want to check out Friendcaster Pro.

I made the switch to FriendCaster for Facebook a few weeks ago and I like it a lot over the official FB app and have been recommending it to everyone I know that has an android phone. I think it loads a lot faster than the offical FB app, the UI is faster as well as the sync. The notifications (popup dialog box) works and the rendering of photos on people's posts is so much clearer than the offical FB app as they seem to be bigger in size and have a higher resolution on the normal UI display. The biggest con is that some user posts don't display (because of user FB settings) but I've heard that the offical FB app suffered the same issue to a lesser extent. Moreover, the Chat feature is not currently implemented on FriendCaster though it's not an issue for me since I don't use that feature. I also used to get error message (which you could disable in settings) notifications but since I updated to version 3.9.5 I have not seen any error message notifications. I also created a shortcut to the FB mobile site and occasionally I access the mobile site through a bookmark shortcut to catch up on posts I may have missed, which is not too big a deal to me.

I also use friendcaster for fb. Haven't touched the fb for android app in a long time. Friendcaster doesn't have chat as mentioned but found this easily solved by using go! Chat for fb.

I use www. facebook. com in the browser... much easier to get around, and you know where it's all at. Saves storage space too (if you don't have a million contacts you want to sync, that really the only thing the app is good for).

I use Tweetdeck, plus it also pulls in my Twitter so only 1 app needed.

I was really happy with Frirndcaster up until the latest update. But now it's not as good and doesn't work as well as it used to

I also just go through the web browser (using Desktop as the user agent instead of Android), and it works great... actually loads more quickly than the app, believe it or not.

Friendcaster is getting worse as time goes on; mega bloated, and bugs like white text on a white background in the editor when trying to post using the default theme are ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend it but I'm still trying to find a decent alternative.

I guess the only alternative would be Fast for Facebook, although that one is in beta and still needs some work, it's probably the only other alternative to Friendcaster.
