I don't understand your reply?
Moota, you're fine. From my knowledge of the variants of the SGS2, your model is the International version, you just so happen to be on the T-Mobile network over in the UK.
This thread/forum is for US T-Mobile users so I can understand your confusion. Likewise for the other members who've commented in this thread. If you want to discuss your handset/upgrade, you can do so here: Samsung Galaxy S2 (International) - Android Forums
I meant that ICS is not available for the SGH-T989, the T-mobile S2, here in the USA yet.
Am I wrong?
Yes. I had an appointment yesterday at 5 pm with Ali at T-Moble for help setting up Google Music on my T-Mobile SGH-T989. Before leaving my house for the T-mobile appt with Ali, , I took one last look to see if the player was MIRACULOUSLY working. It wasn't but there was a four part message on my cell indicating the new ICS update was available, and that it required a T-Mobile agent to "change some permissions."
Since I was going out the door to T-Mobile I left without acting on the update.
I got my SGH-T989 from Ali about three weeks ago as a phone upgrade, but Ali didn't mention to me at that time that a new Galaxy S III was coming to T-Mobile at the end of May. I returned to T-Mobile for a refund as soon as I was aware of the soon-to-be released S III, but missed the refund by 2 days late. Ali told me at that time that he could work it out the S III when it came out if I would just add an additional line to my T-Mobile account.
So when I got to T-Mobile yesterday, I asked Ali to also add the ICS update, that had just popped up that morning, before he helped me with the music player problem. Ali advised me, since I am switching phones at the end of this month, to wait until then to do the ICS upgrade on the S II, and he is going to buy my S II.
So the answer again is yes, ICS is available now at T-Mobile as you can see from my more detailed post.
I apologize for doubting you, and for being wrong, if this is the case.
Where are you located? Maybe we just don't have it here in the Midwest yet, as evidenced by my phone here:
(no firmware)

I am sorry but I feel a bit stupid here. Not trying to be funny in any way!!
What is the point of side loading ICS from an sd card when it can be done either OTA or using a USB cable and Samsung Kies. I want to also note for the record that T-Mobile has been the Pink Elephant in the room when it comes to updating phones to ICS. In the Samsung's schedule for updates T-Mobile was just absent.
There have been no leaks for the T989 ICS nor has there been any official news. Even if T-Mobile has the authentication privileges to push the update to your phone - they will not do it. I also suspect that the lower level tech have absolutely no idea when T-Mobile plans to update the phones.
Anyway - for the purposes of T-Mobile USA and the T989 variant of the Samsung Galaxy S2 there is no ISC - I don't believe that there is eve a stable rom that would give you ICS.

I am interested in, but not invested, in getting ICS.
Robo, you could be right. Now I am interested. Ali is going to buy my S2, so I will ask him whats the problem since he wants to use ICS. I will give him a call tomorrow.
actually... there is a leak for the T989 ICS ROM.. you should take a look at XDA because there are already ROMS made with it
Great point, I did some research and there is a stable 4.0.3 on xda developers website and it looks pretty good. I think now I am going to root my phone. Thanks for the correction - just want to say the US version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 still has no official ICS release.
no.. there is no official release yet.. and the source Kernel for the T989 ICS ROM hasn't been released yet if I am not mistaken.. I have tried most of the ROM's there and I think I will wait until the official release of ICS before I jump on board.. I really don't think it will be a very long wait.. most likely a couple weeks maybe a month.. although i have the Canadian version (T989D).. I suspect both will have similar release dates..
and rooting is definitely the way to go... it opens up a whole new world of enjoyment for this device.. just follow the guide in the T989 all things root forum
Yea I am set on rooting it is just I need to become brave enough to get the pro version of titanium backup!!!
It's a 19100
This is US T-mobile:
press the home button and the power button at the same time to take a screen shot
How does that work, if you are on a settings screen for instance when you press HOME and POWER at the same time, it leaves the screen you needed the screen shot from?
Thanks
