Help with windshield mount

So this is gonna sound weird, but I do a little storm chasing in my free time, and i am looking for windshield mount for my maxx so I can use radar/GPS while it is mounted. But I also want to be able to use the camcorder while I am driving, does anyone know of a mount that allows me to do this?

I have the mount that VZW sells for the DRM, and you can use the camcorder while it's mounted in it.

Would I be able to record what's in front of me while driving?

You'll have to play a little bit with the positioning of the mount, but you should be able to mount it so the camcorder is useable and will record what's in front of your vehicle. I have the VZW mount in a a 2004 Volvo XC90 and it works just fine. I even have it mounted so that when I record, you don't see the mount.

If you buy the mount at a VZW store, and if it doesn't work for you, you can always return it...

I might go with the Motorola one, looks nicer, and probably use a dremel to cut out a hole for the camera

The hole is already there--no cutting required...

I use an ARKON MEGA GRIP and the suction cup mount with flex neck.

its awesome and works on pretty much every phone I've ever tried.

Grips very very well, easy to position, and if you set it right you can still use the camera/video on the phone.

I used it like this on my DX. Its even easier with theMAXX because I don't have to plug into the side of the phone.

+1 for the Arkon mount with the flex neck. They also have a newer holder that would probably work be perfect for recording video:

They also have a sticky dash mount that I've used for normal car stuff, I'm sure it'd work great for taking video:

I have one in my truck that I bought at a truck stop...its a universal mount that sticks to the windshield by suction...In 2 months it hasn't fell off.

I took this video while driving...just to see how it worked...I thought it worked pretty good considering I'm in an 18 wheeler on a road that is pretty darn bumpy.

I forget the name of the mount, but I've seen them in almost every truck stop I've been in...you'll know it when you see it.
