Root [Solved] Can't enter download mode for ODIN Bad camera button

***Issue resolved***

***I got lucky and after about 50 attempts the camera button worked, CWM Recovery and Monster 4 now on the phone woohoo!

I am trying to put a new ROM on my son's Admire.

But his camera button seems to be busted which is preventing me from entering Download mode so I can put CWM Recovery on it.

I tried adb using 'adb reboot download' but it just turns off the phone.

Is there anything else I can do? I just need to get CWM 5.0.2.7 on there so I can hook him up with some Rom action. God this is so frustrating.

BTW, I don't mind working in adb if anyone has any ideas for me.

Hello there,
U should install and try an app called room manager premium apk Google it 4 free on Shared4 you'll be able to Reboot Recovery which means access to CWM.

Room manager?

I hope thats what you meant and not ROM MANAGER.

Because if it is Rom Manager then you can't use that on Admire as it will hard-brick the phone instantly.

.....I really have the feeling you mean Rom Manager.If so that is a shame.

If you have that on your Admire get rid of it now.

Rom Manager + Admire = Dead phone

do not use rom manager unless you want your phone 2 b a paper weight. Put feel free to use room manager if u cant afford a interer decorator

I check this forum everyday hoping and praying a Monster 5 or Legend shows up (with an option for 800 and 900 Mhz kernal of course ! :rolleyes:

btw, I have M4 on 5 Admires now. My daughter even has it with paris' pink/purple girly theme.

I have my 15 yr old son into flashing/theming now and he knows to look out for any threads with genovdot in them. I told him you are the ROM Sensei :adore:

Yea ROM Toolbox is some good stuff. Also has a nice database of Boot Animations. Has alot of what you can find in standalone apps built right in.

The actual problem was not getting into CWM, it was getting into download mode to be able to flash CWM on the phone. My son's phone was fresh and only had root, not cwm.

But I am all good now. I got that all sorted out last week. The camera button just worked out of nowhere. Thanks

just saying rom manager is safe to use on the admire, just stay away from the rom options

(fix permissions works too)

You can also take apart the phone to access the camera button. Sometimes you can fix it.

To clarify, stay away from rom options PLUS any cwm flashes! ;-)

one would think something that said flash on it would be a hint but yeah cwm flashes aswell as rom flashes thru any app out there (currently) would be bad news for your little admire. no more cute droid. QQ
