I use international version(bought it from Amazon USA)Update didn't show up on phone(OTA) however when tried Kies, I first do a check for Kies update, it updated itself. Than plugged my phone in, it has detected a new firmware update, it downloaded it and updated my phone to ICS. But only after 10hours, battery was discharged totally. I'm charging it, than see is it an ICE or a first time install issue.
And after the update, there seems to be a serious heat problem... Anyone noticed it as well?

This may have been said, but I didn't read all the replies so my bad if it has but Samsung has had on it's website for a while a list of all devices and carriers that ICS was going to be released to, and they were originally scheduled to roll out Q1 this year, but pushed it back to Q2 starting in early May, so I suppose it's no surprise that it's dribbling out now, however, if your in the US your beat as this release announcement was for across the pond first, then here in the US, so lord only knows when we will start getting it.

Quick question: like darkmav above, when connected to Kies and after selecting Firmware upgrade and initialisation it says "GT-N7000 does not support initializing".

Did you experience this?

I got the update here in the UK albeit on a on an Amazon.de purchased Note. I have a quick question for those who have the update. A lot of the blurb on the web mentions the Premium Suite including something called Video Everywhere. Sounds pretty useful i thought but there's no sign of it on my updated device. Anyone know how to get hold of it?

I found the update this morning (in the UK on a German Note) downloaded it this evening via wifi got to about 90% then failed, something about not connecting to server asked if I wanted to continue (thinking it was done said yes) then it disappeared. Phone now says no updates, phone up to date. Has this happened to anyone else?

Video Everywhere seems to have been dropped from the PS, despite having been announced by Samsung (see Samsung launches Premium Suite for Galaxy Note with exclusive Angry Birds Space content SAMSUNG ). And now, despite starring in Samsung's official video ...

... My Story has been dropped as well, so we're left with S Note as the only new app. Since Samsung have painted themselves into a corner there, maybe they will provide those apps in a later update.

Call me a cynic, but...

Is it worth getting ICS update or better to stay on gingerbread

I for one won't be in rush to upgrade (rather wait till and bugs are ironed out and Apps I use on the regular are updated to run on ICS).

I updated my SII to ICS and for all the nice improvements I mentioned above, I experianced more annoyance.....Gonna stick with Gingerbread until I have an issue with that, plus I would seem that Premium Suite has been sh*tcanned for the time being.

It will just show up on the main screen when ready.
I think Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation is for something different. I've never needed that to see other updates via Kies.

Unfortunately it's not described in the help and I have not been able to find any information about what that does.

Just been reading an article predicting that Android 5.0 Jelly Bean will be released by Thanksgiving; one of the more conservative timescales, with some predicting a summer release.

Even using Thanksgiving as a date we are now closer to the release of JB than we are to ICS, and yet still no upgrade for the Note!!

For anyone interested, the ICS update is starting to roll out to users who have a Taiwan CSC (Country Sale Code).

SamMobile Firmware Page

If you want to find out what your Note's CSC code is, you can find out by hooking your device up to Kies. In Kies it will list your firmware, there will be a 3 letter code in parentheses. For example mine is (TGY) which is Hong Kong. After you find out what your CSC is, check the reference chart here.

Samsung CSC code reference - ykkfive

You can also find out which CSC your Note has by opening your dialer and dialing *#1234# this will list your device's current firmware. Reference your current firmware with the Sammobile link above, that website lists all current firmware for the Galaxy Note.

Edit: From XDA, someone was stating this was in fact Hong Kong Firmware. CSC codes are TGY and BRI. When I get home I'm going to check Kies and see if the update is available for me.
