Help ICS: Transformer Shutting Off Mysteriously

FYI:
Important Bullitin - Original Transformer Owners

Asus has released a new firmware update for the TF101. I'm not sure what the change log is, but I would hope it fixes the random reboots and deep sleeps. Maybe those with wake lock should try disabling it, installing the update and seeing how it goes.

Is this a new fw beyond the 4/24 release or is this just the 4/24 release?

And just because it is over there and annoying me and therefore I must pass it on:

:captain:

I haven't a clue what that's all about.

One thing I'd like mention is that since I upgraded to the latest update I have had to uninstall and reinstall several apps to get them to work again (clearing cache and data didn't work). Two apps I've had to do this for are Chrome Beta and Splashtop Remote Desktop. So I'd recommend that fix to anyone with a similar FC problem.

Here's what I've found after running the latest update and removing wake lock. I still get random reboots while asleep, but I have not had any boot loops or frozen boots that completely drain the battery. Were in not for checking the system uptime status, I wouldn't have even realized that it was rebooting at all, but it seems that 30 hours is pretty much maximum for me.

Still, the battery life is much more in line with Honeycomb and the random locks and bootloops are gone, so it is definitely a step in the right direction. I can live with this, but I hope Asus is still working on the fix for the reboots.

I had one of the worst issues yet with my Transformer after the latest update. It rebooted and then got stuck in a boot loop which just consisted of the Asus Eee Pad BIOS screen followed by reboot, continuing endlessly. I held the power button for a minute and plugged it in. Nothing was able to break the cycle. Finally, out of desperation I performed a full data wipe from the pre-boot menu and that fixed it. BUT I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED! I should NOT have to wipe all my user data to fix the problem. If this issue isn't resolved soon I will have to find a non-Asus product. Come on Asus, my Motorola Droid X didn't have as many serious issues and that runs stupid MOTOBLUR... Vanilla (or nearly so) Android should not be having these problems.

HI EVERYBODY,

as many of you did too, yesterday i got the Update to "Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich" to my ASUS Transformer.

I LOVE IT

Seems to be faster and everything i have before on 3.1 works perfectly now on 4.0.3

MYSTERIOUS PROBLEM

I never turn off my Tablet, i just let the screen go OFF and whenever i need it i simply push the Power Button that turns on the Screen, but last night, my Transformer TURNED OFF on it's own and it didn't want to come on at all!

I left my Tablet in StandBy, as usual, with about 40% of Battery left and went out with some friends, when i got back home i tried to turn on my Transformer...

DEAD

Considering my Tablet never did the "Playing Dead Trick" i figured that during the Update it might have lost the Calibration to the Battery, so what i thought it was 40% Battery it was in reality 3-4%.

So i attached it to the Charger, and it was still off... so i re-tried to Push the Power Button while on Charger, but nothing...

I had to wait a Couple of Minutes, and i was able to turn it on...

And guess what???

I still had 36% of Battery

So why in tha world did it shut off on it's own?

Right now i am trying to run it out of Battery, i want to drain it and then recharge it all the way from 0 to 100%, but i was wondering if anyone else of you encountered a similar problem after the update to "Ice Cream Sandwich"

Thank's for any info

ya....... me too ....... have the same problem........ yet showing the wrong time.......

My Transformer F101 had the same problem it would just shut off mysteriously, and randomly while doing many different things or not even doing anything. At first it was a few times but then it got worse and worse, and would reboot, and shut off randomly and sometimes freeze. I had the protection plan through best buy on it, and I just took it in told them my problem (I showed them it freezing luckily I got it to freeze while not being there long). They told me that the protection plan I got allows me to replace the broken one, but they don't have that one in, and probably wont get anymore in because of the new Transformer Prime, and the other Transformer TF300T. Currently they didn't have the Prime so I went with the 32GB TF300T. That one has been running for a few months now without any problems.

So my tablet problems seem identical to the original posters problems, but I am using my tablet when it shuts down. I then boot up my tablet (after being pluged in for 5-10 minues). If I try to boot up my tablet w/out pluging it in, it just blinks the light on the top. No boot up problems, it never repeats. But heres the wierd part. I am running Jelly Bean.

Help Please
