I've had the LG optimus one for 18 months and this is my first problem.

Last week my FM radio app stopped working. The app would open but it couldn't find any radio channels. Now my phone won't let me use 3g data.

I can connect to the cell tower and I have full bars on my phone. I can send SMS and make phone calls. I've tried rebooting the phone and I've turned the data connection on/off a bunch.

I've just done a factory reset and my radio works again, but the 3g is still not working. I've tried using another sim card and I still cannot connect to 3g.

My phone is unlocked and rooted.

What should I do?

Memory card gets unmounted sometimes. Which is your mem card? The stock one? Usually Class 4 cards of 8GB and above get unmounted sometimes, but the stock card never seems to unmount. You can try removing the memory card, cleaning the connectors with a clean card, placing it back.

My carrier does not allow me to use 3G unless I ask for it. In other words, they have to send me 3G settings for it to work. Maybe its something like that with your carrier? Try contacting them.

Under network settings it says:

Type:mobile[unknown]
state:connecting
extra:sp.telus.com
roaming:false
failover:false
isAvail:true

Telus is the original carrier. I have a different carrier now...could this be the issue? What is the 'extra' category?
You need to contact this "different carrier".
