Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

Hey g60, I'm going to try to play around with Tickerguy's Camera repo and see if I can't get it to build right. I am just starting by forking his repo from his last commit to see if it builds, then I'm gonna try to start merging in commits around his fixes and see what happens.

If i get it working you can fork off my Camera repo!

EDIT: Also does anyone know where the font files are at in the CM7 repo's? I've looked everywhere for them lol!

Last night I upgraded from r06 to r08. Now, mind you, back when I had r06 installed, I had the custom script installed that gave Zeam the custom folder icon and the ICS app drawer icon (as well as the home button removed from the app drawer).

Upon upgrading to r08 and rebooting for the first time, Zeam was still one of the Home button launcher options so I [foolishly] selected it and checkmarked the default action box, and it gave me and endless loop of force closes.

I rebooted into recovery, restored previous build r06, re-did the process of installing r08, then used the stock launcher. Went into Applications, and Zeam was sitting there, with the option of uninstalling it.

No complaints here, just wanted to report what happened when upgrading.

Look in your /system/app folder and your /data/app folder. If you have zeam in your data folder, that would explaine why you can uninstall it.

I just flashed r.08 and installed the 360 launcher. 360 force closed after installation probably b/c of old stuff left around from the r.04 (i only wiped cache and dalvik). Uninstalled it, installed it again and it works fine now except for the widgets. They seem to be working fine for a while and then displaying "error when loading window". Never had this problem with r.04, but i don't feel like wiping it clean and reinstalling 50+ apps again.

Thanks g60!!! you rock!

I run CM7.2 g60 and loaded Rom Toolbox to assist. Not very good. Rom Toolbox takes
a lot of memory. Got rid of it. Loaded System Tuner Pro as it gave me alot of valuable tools.
But it had one problem, it wouldn't allow CM settings to be excluded it from being "task killed"
and thing would screw up from there! I went back to System Panel Pro which will exclude whatever apps are in the list. ( downloads, user, or other system apps) It will honor your separate Rom settings and won't kill them! Links2Sd will work for other maintenance issues. Just a heads up ! My camera & camcorder are working perfectly. Maybe Motorola fixed things in the brand new phones? Mine is a week old.

So I hear alot about this ROM but I'm still iffy about trying it.Now I had heard that cam wasn't working but that you fixed it now.My question is (because I got no exact answer) are both front and back cameras working?I'm on CM7 Reloaded and I love it but people say this is were it's at.Most say it cause they love the 360 launcher over the ADW one that's on reloaded. So madman is this ROM pretty much a beta with everything major working....minus HDMI of course. If so then show me the way to the madman's ROM :)

And app settings and such will stay put?

I thought a new release meant I'd have to wipe and rebuild. Shows you how much I don't know about playing with custom ROMs. :)
Yeah whenever you are just updating the same ROM you don't need to do a factory reset. This allows you to keep apps/texts/settings/ect. Only need to do factory reset in CWM recovery is if you are flashing a completely different ROM (example:Seeing you have g60 CM7 7.2 if you go to CM9 or any other ROM you need to factory reset)

Yes the cam is completely fixed front and back with pictures and video recording. There is no launcher anymore in the rom just Launcher2 which is the Gingerbread default. This ROM is designed to be clean and stable as possible. I removed a lot of the base CM7 apps that are not needed like cm stats, file explorer and Terminal Emulator. This allows you to do what you please with the ROM as all these items can be download through the play store. The big launchers people are using are ADW, Zeam and 360 Launcher.

As for this ROM this is the last update for a while, the next project I am working on is rewriting the MT device files. I am hoping I can base our files off the HTC Incredible 2 as that phone is very similar to ours and also that phone is fully supported for nightly CM7 updates. After that I will be focused on fixing the video playback so there is no more jitter or flicker and media files play stable. So kick back, relax, and enjoy r0.8 :D

I will have to try it out then. But terminal emulator was a plus on CM7 reloaded cause it allowed you to swipe PRL's without having to flash back to stock. That said can I download TE from the market to use on your ROM to change the PRL or no?From what I read about it any CM7 build can do that with the TE.Anyways great work man.And fyi I gave you a shout out in another post on here.It was the one about we are stuck on 2.2.2 but that Motorola is going to get us on 4.0.Some guy blasted VM and other companies for lack of support (which I agree and it's true) but I point out that lack was picked up by the great ROM developers on here like you and many others who I can't remember

Yeah the main reason I removed TE was because CM7 has not updated it for months and months. The version in the Play Store is written by the same guy so when he does updates you get them unlike the one on CM7.
