I just have to let you guys know how awesome Decks 1.3d is with the new Mason kernel .15 RC3. I've held my tongue for a while whist running the Lee kernel 3.3.7 SBC since so many of you hold in high regard but I couldn't stand the lag it had sometimes. I'm not sure if its because of how many apps I have or what but its really been making me look forward to the Evo LTE, but now with the Mason kernel I cannot believe how snappy and fast it is. I gave my phone to my buddy who has an iPhone 4s and I told him, "play around with it and see what you think", and after a few minutes he said, "I thought Android was supposed to be laggy? wtf? Its as fast or faster than mine! The battery life is fantastic and its fast as hell. I will be donating to this cat, wish this were out months back. But....

I have one issue that has bothered me on multiple Evos and with different kernels and varying versions of AOSP. When I press power to turn the screen on I would say 50% of the time it will either flash on for sec then turn off or the bottom buttons with light up but no screen light on. If I'm in a well lit room I can see the screen is indeed on but just the backlight wont turn on. Its the weirdest thing and drives me nuts. It basically makes me press the power button 4 times to get the screen to come on. This phone would be absolutely perfect if it weren't for this issue. Like I said, its done it to me on multiple evos and even my buddies evos.

Anyone else have this issue???

Enable screen on animations

Try Wheatley, brazilianwax or smartass governors with that kernel. You think that rom is fast, try out deck 1.3d reloaded.... Blazing! And it's not even done yet.

I'm using Wheatley now, I guess I'll try those as well! I'd try it out but I don't think I can see the link since I don't have enough posts :(
Also, put your min cpu at 245. Or if you still have wake issues after all that try bumping to 384 as your min. And don't use screen off profiles with any of the governors above.

I'll try that out and report back! I'm at 128 min, but when you say screen off profiles do you mean with something like setcpu? I don't think you can make profile without it right?

yeah! I am underclocked to 499 on brazilianwax, and the ROM is still fast!! On the kernel now, since that is what this thread is about..does Mason support Bluetooth, or is my bluetooth device not pairing??

LOL, I searched the xda thread, but could only dig up something like "there may be an issue w/ bluetooth"..LOL, I dont use it everyday, would be nice to pair with my car though! O well, I dont need to stir up that bee-hive with a question like that..lol

No bee-hive stirring should be necessary. :) I stand by my users, they should be polite, even on xda. I'm not easily offended either, so you might not find me as moody as some devs I've seen.

That said, I very much suspected that bluetooth has been neglected, which is why I have mentioned it being potentially broken. I lack any bluetooth devices to test and build with, so unfortunately that's a limitation. I have seen some more recent developments with bluetooth that I might include, but wont be able to test it.

The kernel is very much a work in progress, so mileage may vary based on your use case. Thanks for giving it a shot, and please keep putting your experiences and solutions out there. The more info people have the better their experience can be on their evo.

Thanks for the reply atyoung!!! I have heard there may be a potential issue with wi-fi tether on mason G rc3, I have been tethered all day, no issues.

It happens on almost every AOSP rom I've used... Just swipe accross the screen like you normally would if you could see the unlock bar, and it will wake up....
