New Firmware Today: 9.2.1.24

Not a single reboot since firmware update. But a couple days before the update I installed Wake Lock and did not get a reboot since the install either. I think I am clean for about a week now.

BUT. Now I am getting a TON of force closes on lots of apps including the Play Store. I am also now having some random battery drains too. Usually it's a 5%ish drain overnight with nothing running, and sometimes It can be down 30-40%.

I still have many force closes also. I also get the disappearing home screen and icons issue. This build is far from stable on my TF. My tablet is much more usable after the update than it was. Looks like there is some improvement with each update.

My TF101 is now completely stable after the last firmware update. Google Maps continues to crash, but I can probably live with that as long as it doesn't happen on my Bionic. With respect to icons blanking on the home screen, that riddle was solved a few weeks ago (search for my posts on that). In brief, you have one or more apps running in the background that are incompatible with ICS. In my case, it was Beautiful Widgets. When I uninstalled that app and switched to Fancy Widgets, the home screen problem went away and never returned.

Hope this helps!

Good information but difficult to find the incompatible app(s). My TF is stable also. Never had any sound issues. Thanks

You can go into apps > settings to see what is running in the background.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Maps this morning. No bueno, it still crashes when I press the location button. Then I found a work around until Google fixes their bug. MapQuest is a small free app that does much the same thing, including voice navigation.

I was having the same issue. I know it doesn't make any sense but I toggled satellite view on and hit the location button and toggled satellite off and hit the location button again and haven't had a FC on location since.

There is definitely something up with Google Maps. Charged my tablet and dock Sunday night and hadn't used it at all until yesterday. Open it up and see that 35% of the dock's battery had been used. (Not normal for me, it should be A LOT less for idle.)

I checked battery stats and found 61% had been used for tablet idle. Ok, it had been idle (Does deep sleep show up as idle though?) this whole time which means a lot more of it should have been idle time. That's the first bit of oddness. Even odder though is that Google Maps had 30% of the battery stats! I can't remember the last time I had ever used Google Maps on my tablet. Which means that while my tablet was supposed to be asleep, Google Maps opened itself up.

I don't have any apps set to self update and ever since ICS, I've been manually disabling wi-fi at the end of each session. This is very curious behavior.
