Help Can't send text messages (SMS) this morning

I'm in Houston, TX, am running the leaked 4.0.4 ROM with the most recent radios, and as of this morning I can't send SMS messages. MMS seems to work, which is odd. I'm using the stock messaging app

So far I've reset the phone and done a battery/sim card pull to no avail. Any helpful hints or is anyone else in the Houston area having this problem?

edit: I should add I've had the phone for 3+ months and have never had this problem before.

To add a bit more info, I am still able to send MMS messages, just not SMS (weird, I know). And if I long press on the message and select details, I get something that says (among other not helpful things) Error Code: 2.

To the other helpful folks, I'm not sure how 4.0.4 could be the problem as I've been running it for 3+ months and it just stopped working. I suppose its possible, but rather unlikely. And I'm going to wait and see if I can figure something out before clearing the cache. I have my messages backed up, but I'd rather not wipe everything if I don't have to.

Follow up from yesterday: sometime yesterday afternoon, SMS magically started working again and I definitely hadn't done anything else to the phone to fix it. This leads me to believe that the problem was on Verizon's end, not mine, but I can't prove that theory.

Thanks for all the suggestions (and yes, I did try searching for error code 2, to no avail)
