I just got my TF300( after I tried the ipad!!) and files/docs are not copied in order from my pc. I have this bunch of exam ques that I open with windows photo viewer. When I copy them to my tab, they appear in a scattered form. I have tried doing it directly via usb to my pc, with an external drive and even tried the webstorage but they all did same thing. Like it copies slide 1 and then jumps to 10 or 100. Can anyone pls help me with this? I am not very tech savvy but I have done all I can. Will using an SD card help?

Are these separate files? It sounds like maybe they are, and they're probably getting copied/sorted in order by filename (sort of alphabetically - 11 follows 1, 111 follows 11, all before we get to 2. Same way AA would be between A and B) If I understand your problem correctly, it's behaving just as you'd expect it to.

I haven't used the built-in file manager much, but if it won't let you sort files in a way you find useful (maybe by date?), try another file manager from the Play Store. Astro's a good one. (and will let you sort by date)

Otherwise, you might need to consider renaming some of these files or sorting them in different folders?

Familiarize yourself with the file manager. If you're going to use this like a laptop, it'll be essential.

Oh my!!! I went back to take a look and yes it kinda copies it serially starting with 10( 101 102 etc) then 11( 111 112 113etc.). Thanks plenty. BUt pls how do I begin to rename the slides. There are so many. Like in a folder I have upwards of 500 slides. Any idea how I can make this easier?

I know there are ways to do batch renaming like this in Windows and on Mac, but I'm not aware of a way to do this in Android. Maybe there is one. I'd try searching the Play Store and maybe you'll get lucky.

Otherwise, it might be easier just to drop them in subfolders than to rename them one-at-a-time. Maybe slides 1-10 in one folder, slides 11-99 in another, and all the 3-digit ones in another?

In the future, when you're creating/naming the files, you can go with 001, 002 etc so you know they'll be in the right order
