Hello again...sorting out issues on newb to Droid Note LTE ATT.
The stock charger uses that USB cable. Does that mean I can charge it up using any mini USB cable to my desktop?
Also, I have a car lighter charger from previous phone...but it's a generic and has a USB port as well as a iOS cord. Can I use a USB to mini USB from that, to my Note? Don't want to just plug it in and fry my new phone...

Beware some chargers do not put out enough mAh to charge the Note (800mAh-1A is optimal) while it's turned on. There are battery apps that tell you if the phone is plugged into USB or AC. If your charger shows as AC power rather then USB then you have plenty of power to charge and or use the Note while charging. You wont fry the device as the USB standard will only allow for up to 1A max.

Also keep in mind that those "bargain" chargers you can get on eBay and Amazon aren't always the best deal even though the prices are good. One just fried my wife's Inspire. :(

OEM car charger is only $5 (AT&T sells for $25) personally i'm using Powergen which actually costs more because it has dual ports. However from what i've been told some OEM chargers are not that good and many Samsung accessories leave much to be desired. I want the Car Mount to use as a dash cam but having looked at many reviews i'm hoping for a revision or possibly a better aftermarket product.

With the galaxy note in a car dock with GPS running and plugged into the cigarette lighter that also has a 2nd phone plugged in to charge, the cigarette lighter charger apparently could not supply enough juice to keep the galaxy note from draining its battery. That really surprised me.

I don't suppose there are differences between cigarette lighter chargers where one would be delivering a higher charge then another.

Well there is because most have small circuits inside designed for specific devices and some even have overcharge protection. The problem is the faster you charge a battery the less power it becomes able to store due to heat which lowers efficiency. By slow charging you actually get more life from the battery and you get a better charge overall. With the Note however it uses so much power and has such a large battery that it needs more juice then similar devices with smaller screens.
