I can't get Internet pass-through to work for the life of me. I have a Mobile broadband dongle for using the internet and when ever I connect my HTC One X to my PC it just loses connection and wont come back unless I restart the thing.
I did get Internet pass-through to work once though, that's the annoying part.
I have htc sync and the latest update for the phone.. arrghhhh.
I know there must be a way that I can connect because I have done it before :(

If anybody can help me that would be fantastic,
cheers.

I don't think that's an option for me but cheers.

It's also starting to overheat a lot as well now.... hmmm not to sure about this phone right now.

People generally think a device is overheating just because the device gets luke warm under their hand or on their lap. Most of these people have no clue what they're talking about. Prime example would be tantrum iPad 3 users had when the tablet came out.

Unless your phone/tablet/device is physically shutting itself down (which it will) and entering a temp panic mode there is NO reason to panic. Your device has overheat protection built in, before any permanent damage is ever done the device will shut itself off. If your device is shutting itself off then you have a problem and I'd get the device replaced.

Until then people need to stop playing the engineering role and take into consideration that different materials will soak up heat differently than others.

The iPhone for example gets just as hot as the One X but it covered by a wall of plastic and then a wall of glass while the One X's battery sits just behind one one of wall plastic and has been known to get warmer. But how many One X's actually go into panic mode and shut down?

You're right mate, I'm not to sure what i'm talking about lol It's my first smartphone believe it or not so when I felt it heating up like that I understandably got a bit concerned. But if you and quite a few others are saying it's all normal i'm not going to argue.

I got the grasp of it all pretty quickly and all but this internet pass through thing is a right turd. It's basically a problem of, as soon as the phone is connected to the PC.... the mobile broadband disconnects. So frustrating and nobody can help. I've contacted the htc support but no reply as of yet.

I wish I could help you, I'm in the US and our carriers pretty much go out of their way to make sure we can't tether! If your carrier isn't as anal as ours here in the US which is probably the case I'd contact the source and see what they have to say.

Only thing I can think of is maybe playing with the radios. Press and hold on the screen so the widgets appear and put the wifi and mobile widget toggle switches on the screen and try turning them on and off with internet passthrough on while connected to the PC, see if it makes a difference. Also make sure you have the internet passthrough checkbox ticked on.

In any case keep us posted I'm sorry if I wasn't much of a help.

Yeah, i'm beginning to think it's something to do with the dongle side of it all.
I think I've tried just about everything on the phones side, and it says it's working and all connected on the phone, but the dongle just refuses to find a connection when the phones plugged in at the same time.

I would of let this go a while back if I hadn't of used it twice before lol I know it actually works.... never mind, I probably should just let it go tbh.

Maybe it's because I still have the 1.28 software?

You can try looking for an update and see if it helps but isn't 1.28 the latest firmware for your version of the One X? I'm not sure, search and see if there's an update, if not try flashing the one you're on again and see if it helps.

I'm not to sure if there's an update for mine at the moment, it doesn't find one if there is. It has a little T-Mobile animation on start up and i'm on O2... don't know if that means anything. It's the quad core version as well because i'm in England... again, don't know if that's relevant.

I'm not sure what I would have to do to flash it tbh mate lol would it void the warranty?
