(VZW) Nexus 4.0.X Update Discussion

Just woke up in Charlotte, NC to my 4.0.4 update. Looks like it updated without any problems or issues you guys are mentioning above. I did not root.

Hopefully this fixes my muting issue. I feel like it went away for about a month, but just this past week I had 3 calls in a row mute on my end. It gets very frustrating when you can't make an important call on your own cell b/c it will probably mute itself.

My muting had gone away with the .03 radios, so I assume you will be fine now on .04. Also, VZW mentioned one way calling as one of the fixes.

I got the 4.0.4 OTA update last night around 2230 hours here in New Mexico.....it seems like it is a bit smoother and quicker. I hope it is as good as it looks.....

I've had a significant improvement in connecting to the 4G network. I recently got a replacement phone for a camera issue and was having all sorts of problems with the new one.

I would not even be able to make a phone call and the phone spent most of the time not connected to the network. After the update I have still low signal but at least i am connected to mobile networks and haven't had the phone restart on me yet after a phone call.

1. go to setting / apps then hit the all button at the top
2. scroll down to google services framework and then press it to open
3. hit the clear data button
4. go to settings / about phone / system updates (you will notice the date will be 1969 or 1970 this is ok )
5. hit the check now button
6. Nexus should show you the 4.0.4 update avaliable
7. hit install and enjoy

(I copied this off of xda forums...sue me)

Worked for me on second try.

Here's one thing -- the second time instead of hitting home, I went directly to setting by pulling down the notification windowshade.

Was rooted running AOKP. Flashed back to stock and locked using Wugs. Update dropped immediately. Installed update, and wanted to unlock and root again and run rooted stock. Unlocked, rooted, again using Wugs, and rom manager will not flash clockworkmod recovery. Unrooted, and locked, and installed update again and will run stock 4.0.4 for now. Has anyone had trouble using Wugs after the update?

My wife got the update (figures because she could care less) so I decided to back to backs with the camera. I'm calling the pic quality a huge improvement. It was easier to keep the picture focused and the colors are more vivid and true to life. You can see huge color difference in mickeys feet and the mountain dew can. The clarity of focus is much better on the MT Dew can also. I'm pleased!

The screen rotate is much quicker now also, that used to drive me nuts.

I had to shrink the photos to 90% in order to make it under the upload size limit of the forum.
