Root Return to Stock

I'm done with Droid. I just want to go back to stock and deal with the crap that is on the phone until I can go back to IOS.

I followed the instructions http://androidforums.com/droid-3-all-things-root/502088-seriously-bricked-droid-3-a.html, with the SBT files, and although I am re-setting up my phone, I am VERY rooted still.

In baby language, and please, just tell me an app to use to return to stock. I'm about to drive over this phone with my car because nothing is working. Thankfully have not bricked it but to sell this POS it has to be stock.

Thanks bunches.

Are you on 5.7.906 or 5.6.890. You're clearly not doing the SBF correctly, as it will remove your custom boot animation and root. Write up EXACTLY what you've tried so far...

actually 5.5.1.....

because of my own bad memory I am unable to write up what i did. i followed directions to the T. but i'm not on any of those OS

as for debloating, i followed a post here somewhere that says what is ok to remove

There is no 5.5.1. Settings->about phone->system version

IIRC, the phone shipped first with 5.5.1, but got 5.6.890 to fix the blue tinted camera some time in October-ish, despite it being leaked earlier. :p

You need a more recent SBF as you most likely can't revert without proper patch files. Check your system version as noted above and tell us what it says.

Thank you yes i was looking at the build. I'm 5.7

Here's a screen:

Would reflashing the phone with the OS work? Seems I cannot get my hands on all of the APK files for the bloat deleted.

[SBF] Droid 3 Fastboot files (5.5.959 and 5.6.890) - Droid 3 - RootzWiki

So does this mean I can't fix .906 yet? I cannot seem to use the fastboot links posted because it means rolling back which isn't possible?

Slowly this is starting to make more sense... I've only wiped my phone 4 times now in 3 days trying different things to unroot.

IF i were to download this, put it on my SD card, can I do a recovery from that? (and yes i actually know how to do that LOL)

I doubt flashing the OTA will work since they sometimes check for a stock /system partition.

Now, I haven't tested this yet, as I have no need for it, but it's a 5.6.890 SBF with the necessary updated 5.7.906 files that allow bootloader etc. flashing, but with the 890 system. It's RSD Lite flashable, but you'll need to unzip with 7zip first.

906 SBF.7z - Minus

Oh Rooting can be cool and tons of fun to customize... but i never could understand ROMS or anything.... so I just wanted it to remove the bloat.... which would have been fine but i want to sell this and go back to the iPhone... can't sell a rooted Droid for any amount of money... thus the need to unroot. Had I been keeping this phone, it never would have been an issue.

When I did a search on Ebay, rooted phones sold for less than $100 and ones that were stock sold for $150-$190. I'll be including tons of stuff with it too...

From what I see on the Classifieds here, it seems people are more interested in 4G phones :-/

Nonetheless, it's all good now, so do you think I should post the ad here first? Lots of goodies to go with it too. (otterbox case, car charger, wall charger, extra screen protector, 32gb SD card).

What do you think?? :)

I never thought in a million years I'd be SO HAPPY to see Bloatware!!!! I AM OFFICIALLY UNROOTED!!!!!!!

Thanks to:
Redsox985
Doogald
and my very good friend Kristin for getting me through this nightmare of inexperienced rooting!!!!!!

I'm happy that you were able to get it all sorted out. Good luck with your new iPhone. It's a great device, and you'll be happy to see that it has very little to no bloatware (depending on your definition.)
