EDIT: Here's something I expect to come up at some point: This phone has HBOOT 1.57.

Hello all, just got my Evo V today from FedEx - I ordered mine from VirginMobileUSA.com with 1 day shipping. So far I'm really, really impressed with this phone - it is a beast in all aspects. Pictures are attached! If you want specific things screenshotted/pictures taken of, I can do that. I'll run down things in the order I think of them.

Call quality: I called a friend, and they reported that my voice was perfectly clear, and I had no problems whatsoever hearing them. This was with about 4 of the 6 possible bars of signal strength, non-4G.

3G speed: Very good!

Note that I live in a rural area where it used to be upwards of 1500ms latency and under .2 Mb/s down. Maybe Sprint upgraded my tower?

4G speed: I cannot comment on the speed of 4G. The closest 4G that I know of is Grand Rapids, MI, but I'm there very little (maybe once a year.)

GPS: Remember the huge problems the Triumph has with acquiring and keeping a GPS signal? Remember how it would lose 3G connectivity if your GPS was tracking? The Evo does not have this problem. GPS acquires signal very quickly and keeps it without issues. Google Navigation worked great!

Camera: Well, this is the same thing as the Evo 3D, and we know what the big deal is here: dual 5MP cameras. I think it's a really cool feature, but it's also not all that practical. It works well, but for taking pictures, I'm taking them in 2D.

If you want anything else, let me know and I'll tell you what I think.

Here's an imgur gallery of about 5 screenshots of the lockscreen, homescreen, and app drawer. The apps I added to the phone and don't come with stock are Speedtest.net, ES File Explorer, Spotify, HTC FM Radio, and HTC Flashlight. Everything else is completely stock. I also changed my wallpaper from the red one you see in all the pictures, and I changed my lockscreen from stock to the Weather one (really cool lockscreen).

(Before anyone asks, no, that isn't Nashville, TN, it's Nashville, MI)

Again, if you want any other screenshots, reply below and I'll take them and post!

Now we just need to wait for developers to jump on this phone and we'll be all set!

NOTE: The attached pictures are taken with the Motorola Triumph. Sorry for the bad quality, but there's only so much you can do with the MT...

I didn't really have too bad of an issue with activation. My problem was that at my home, my signal is really bad. For my Triumph, I used GrooVe IP + AutoAir for calling over my WiFi connection. So I drove a little closer to town, and once I got 3G, activation went perfectly without a hitch. SMS started working about an hour after that, and 3G data and calling worked immediately.

Since you're here, do you know if it's going to be possible for Sense 4.0 to be ported back to the Evo V/Evo 3D? Also, maybe possibly get rid of the horrid Virgin Mobile start animation? I like the HTC part fine, though.
