AOKP build 38. Nova Prime Launcher with two home screens. Steel Blue GO Launcher Theme by Team Carbon. Beautiful widgets clock and weather. Battery Disc widget. Simple Calendar widget.

Can't seem to get a screenshot of the widgets in the navbar. I should've turned the Swagger on... then I'd be able to capture it lol

Wife seems hungry.... wonder if I should do something about that...

All these cool looks/roms/apps/themes/widgets, etc. look fantastic. They really do. However, especially with the widgets and apps that continuously are running, how do you guys not lose your minds about the battery life?

I have the extended battery and I manage my 4g/3g/WiFi toggling so that I maintain as much life as possible. However, all these widgets running would have to destroy the battery no matter what, right?

Or am I n00bing this?

I haven't noticed a significant drain with Widgets in my year 1/2 or so of using Android phones. I'm sure it has some effect but not enough to knock you down 50%. . Some Widgets can be set to update at certain intervals so you don't have to worry about it working all the time.
Try is and just see what happens and show us what it looks like :D

Up until 3 days ago, I had 11 Widgets on my home screen. A month or so before, 16. After removing them all, I've noticed no battery life increase

I don't see how this is possible. Were the widgets you took off continuously updating widgets (for example, Weather, Facebook, Twitter) or were they widgets that were only used/updated manually (for example, music player, settings toggles)? For the former, you would had to have gotten a difference, but the latter might not have changed anything.

I use a few of each and typically go 24+ hours between charges and that is with a typical day of an hour plus of phone conversation and more time with screen on. If you are expecting several days on a charge it is more difficult with a smart phone.

Micro managing the phone isn't a good idea either. Leave it on WiFi whenever possible, let it switch to 3G when you go out, and use 4G when you absolutely must.

Best advice is don't look at the battery levels every time you are using the phone. Charge it when you get the time.

7 of them were GReader Widgets on a 1 hour auto update rate. Two were agenda Widgets. The rest were clocks, dates, weather, etc.
