**** OFFICIAL **** ICS COMING SOON thread... Post all questions and info here!!!!

I drive too anywhere and everywhere(I'm a truck driver) and I downloaded an app that shows me the battery level+temp+voltage. And last time I charged the battery was last night at 21.20 and now I do have 24 hrs with aprox 6 hrs talking time and the battery level is at 35%.
I think the battery gets used bad when is bad signal or is missing at all. I drove few good hours today with really bad signal.
I'm not taking sides but compared with my good ole Droid X the Maxx is way stronger from battery pov.

One more observation. I made one day my Maxx hot spot for my laptop and I can say the battery got empty quite fast. So, short battery life could be caused by lots of things.

I hope too that the new much trumpeted ice cream thing will make a difference but I'm afraid they wont make the update.

Yep. Poor signal will have an extremely negative impact on battery life.

I have been getting better about 13 to 16 hours battery life with moderate to heavy use. Although I am in a area where I am on LTE all the time. There is about a 5 to 10 minute piece of my commute where I will hit 3G but that's it.

Prior phones were a Bionic with extended battery and a Droid X. Neither competes with this phone for different reasons. The Bionic was horrendous. It seemed to have a problem keeping a 4G signal and kept switching from LTE to 3G. Even in areas where my MAXX has no issues with keeping a 4G signal. I would have it plugged in(because I had to) on my desk at work and I could watch it switch back and forth while sitting perfectly still. That and the Bionic with the extended battery is like carrying a brick in your pocket. The Droid X is a great phone, on par with the MAXX, but with no LTE.

I too would like better battery life with ICS but as long as it doesn't get any worse I will be happy.

So i called verizion to. Complain about my battery and asked about ics.... the lady asked u dont have it already..... i said no... she said oh yeah it starts rolling out the fourth!...fingers crossed yall.

I'm running Koa CM9 so, I'm already on ICS (4.0.4) but, I do hope to see the official out soon because maybe it will fix the few small issues in the leaks and the next rom versions will reflect those fixes.

My understanding is that ICS for Verizon roll out will start at the end of the month. Start, which means that some users will get the update well into July.

The first to get ICS is Japan, and once it rolls out there, a week or so later will be LATAM and the rest of the GSM world, and only after that we will see it here for Verizon..
So relax, grab a beer, chill and keep an eye open for news from Japan..
:D
