Facebook sucks on this device...

I don't think it's THIS phone's fault. I think it's Facebook. It was fine for the longest time. I use a different app than the stock FB one and it has been having issues loading, updating, etc. lately. Even the browser loads slowly. Maybe the tech folks have all stopped working on their servers and are looking for work elsewhere since their stock options are losing value by the day. :D

I was beginning to wonder that but I couldn't think that just because of a few recent weeks of bad stock numbers that this would translate to FB having connection problems. Don't companies go through this all the time?!

Well, I was kidding of course. I have no idea what those people do over there, but more often than not, I hear of issues with their API and whatnot. I use Android Pro Widgets and it is 1000x better than the FB app. My wife uses the FB app and when I look at her phone, I want to throw up at the way FB runs. Check it out in the Play Store.

Hmmm, I may check it out!

Great thread. I just started one as well (prior to coming here) about the same crap. Pictures take absolute forever to load and my news feed have gaps in then from pictures that do not load.

Thanks to all that mentioned the apps they use, because I'm looking. I definitely did not want to have to revert to the web browser.

Facebook on mobile devices is intentionally bad. FB realized they don't get AD traffic on mobile so they are trying to keep people on their desktop version. This was disclosed while their IPO was being released.

Interesting. This gives me all the reasons I need in order to switch over and delete FB app (disregarding all future updates), considering this whole buggy app could be happening intentionally...

I find that the FB app works fine with my Wi-Fi. When I am on a 4G signal, it is super slow. I am going to try turning off LTE and see how it works on 3G. It could be the the FB app uses a lot of data. It could also be that 4G is not quite up to speed in low signal strength areas.

Psst: It could be a crappy app - try FriendCaster. ;)
