The Dog Pound.
I saw a couple threads on the web and just saw this from a US carrier:

A T-Mobile spokesperson also confirmed the delay: "We can confirm we have received stock of the white variant of the handset and expect to be able to fulfil all the pre-orders we've received for this device at launch.
"However, we've been advised by the manufacturer of a shipping delay on the pebble blue version.

"Although we expect to receive stock shortly, we are contacting customers who have pre-ordered this colour to let them know that there may be a slight delay, and to reassure them we will look to fulfil their order as swiftly as possible."

I know someone that works in customer services at a mobile phone supplier. Nothing wrong with them, just when the prototypes turned up just before release, the front of the S3 was baby blue and the back navy blue. She said they actually looked quite cool and would have pref that to the solid blue version

Well, if we see a lot of white SG3s in the US in June and no blue, we know it's true.

I ordered blue.

I ordered blue also and this is what I am worried about. I had to return my EVO LTE to get the S3 and don't have a phone now. I can live with it for two weeks like I heard but if it drags on I will have to get something.

Ok, so in the UK the current situation is:

16gb white was available on launch day
32gb white wasn't but stocks are now reaching carriers

Blue phones were not available at launch and although small numbers are reaching customers now its still in limited supply - one of our biggest carriers (vodafone) have no stock and were quoting 2-4 weeks from launch date. You can't walk in to a shop and buy one. Amazon are quoting delivery 20-27th June.

Also, it seems the blue phones that have arrived appear to sport a different hue to the "pebble" blue phones, some places are now describing it as "metallic blue". Photo is from XDA Developers site and shows the phone in several different lighting

I would be very surprised if the US gets wide availability of blue phones at launch.

Had a text from 3UK today, saying my blue one won't be delivered tomorrow :( and will receive a text next Tuesday with an updated expected delivery!
........well, my one plan tariff started yesterday, rang them and changed it to a white one, delivery 13th

My phone was supposed to be delivered today, still not here. So I phoned 3 they told me that the blue phone had been recalled, and you can have a white one on the 13Th. However I have A tracking number for my phone from Dpd and it will be with me from 8-9 am on 8th.

Hope to have a phone here soon as I been on new one plan for 2 weeks and still no phone.

Yeah, for the U.S. launch is still 2-4 weeks away. I can't imagine that they know this far out that blue would be delayed.

You have to remember that the U.S. version is different from the international version. The international version is quad core with 1GB of RAM. The U.S. version is dual core with 2GB of RAM. Most likely they were made at different times. So one does not necessarily affect the other.

So do you guys figure the US will be affected or not? Preorders start tuesday for US Cellular, and were supposed to get them in July. I prefer blue, but would take white if I have to wait long

Sprint and T-Mobile have a release date for the 21st of June. Sprint's pre-orders started on the 5th and I believe Verizon's started on the 6th. It doesn't appear that the shortage over seas has affected the U.S. If it did they would have said something. As you may know by now that Apple is trying to stop the sell of GS3 in the U.S. Samsung has stated that they are not going to back down. My point being, if there was something that could affect the sell of the phone, Samsung would have addressed it.

Not unless Apple is successful. I already pre-ordered my AT&T no-contract S3 and my credit card just got charged today. No delay thus far. But this was for the white version.
