Anyone jumping ship to the samsung S3?

So I was looking at the Samsung S3 and I love the specs and features. I like the 4.8 inch screen, the S-voice, and some of the other features. But my biggest concern is connection to the network, I had the charge and it was horrible on connecting to the network. Battery life is whatever bc I dont mind buying an extended battery.

Any advice on what to do?

If you compare the S3 vs the DRM, you'll find that each has adv and disadv. Overall specs would have the S3 being the better phone, but does it make it a better phone?

Sure you have quad core processor. What apps is really going to use QC? The only thing QC is going to do is drain down your phone faster, which it will certainly do with the S3.

I'm going to stick with my DRM. I bought for one main reason: Battery life. I play a lot of golf during the spring/summer and use my golf GPS often. With a regular phone, after 18 holes, I'm almost completely drained. That means if I play again, I can't use the GPS on my phone. The DRM solved that problem. Plus, who wants to buy an extended battery that would make the phone thicker than a brick. The DRM has the extended battery while keeping it very slim. I like that. To me, that is its most important feature.

I could care less about all that other stuff. I've learned my lesson with Smart phones: I've had 4 Smart phones now for the past 6-8 years. Each had its own special features. Each had its own little trick. Each had its own little gimmick. But what it comes down to is call quality and battery life. That's it.

All that other stuff wears out like a cheap suit over time. Stuff I thought was cool the first week, becomes unused, within months.

The US version will be a dual core, not quad core.

As others have said, the SIII can't match the battery life and radio performance of the MAXX. I've had terrible radio performance from each Samsung I've had on Verizon (Fascinate, Droid Charge, Galaxy Nexus), and I don't want to go back into a situation where I'm constantly frustrated by the dropping of signal or the complete lack of signal where other Verizon devices have signal. So, even though the SIII is a great device, the marginal improvements here and there over the MAXX aren't enough to make me want to switch because of what I'd be giving up - the ability to reliably use a cellular connection (both voice and data) and to use it for an extended period of time.

I feel the same way as most of you. I had a fascinate and charge and the radios were junk. I wouldn't mind having an extended battery with the S3 bc it would help had bulk to the phone. I like a thin phone but some are just to thin now. I like some of the features coming out on the S3, but I have had 2 crappy samsung's before lol. Good thing is that my upgrade isn't till july 24th so I'll get to watch the forum first and hear about the complaints lol

Even if this was Samsung Galaxy S10 I would never get it since Samsung makes it. I and everyone else that I know has had a horrible experience with their samsung phones. The GPS just does not work. Samsung also stops supporting their phones way too early to force you to get their "next new phone". I've even had Verizon reps admit to me that Samsung phones are "lemons".

I will not get another phone without the battery capacity of the MAXX. There is no way I could ever go back to standard batteries. No way. I would be running for a charger in 5 hours. Heck no! Motorola has set a new standard for batteries. high capacity and still thin. Amazing. I don't care how good the specs are on other phones. What good are they if your phone is dead? Paperweight anyone?

I am tempted after reading the reviews and seeing the videos, but, there is nothing the S3 does that the DRM can not do. For what I do, the DRM is probably an equal, if not better, fit for me due to its stamina. Email, web, gps, calls, sms...the experience is great on my DRM. The one thing is the camera; I think the Samsung, HTC, and LG are ahead of Moto on cameras, but that's about it...most likely will stick to my DRM...

If the new Sammy can make it through a day (and night) on one charge, I'd give it a lot of thought. However if it dies in 6-12 hours of moderat use like every ther non maxx, I wouldn't even consider it.

I'm never buying another android with < 3,000 mah battery, if Motorola/apple want to be the only two companies with devices that make it through a day, those will be the only two phones ill buy.

No, I'll stick with this thing. It feels just rock solid and much more stable compared to my old O2x or even my old Desire (RIP). That and the battery means more to me than a 720p screen or a 50-100% faster processor. What would i even need that for? I'm not that much into gaming anyway.

I had a horrible experience with the Galaxy Nexus in terms of poor signal strength, dropped calls, and poor battery life. I would not go backwards to the SIII.

The companies need to stop their obsession with thinness and add large batteries like the RMaxx. I would not consider another phone unless the battery was equal to or better than the RMaxx. In addition, I have heard too many complaints, including my own, about the poor radios in Samsung devices.

I'm sticking with the DRM. I haven't been happy about ICS taking so long but I had a GNex and other than the software, everything was worse about it. Kind of odd considering I used to have an international GSM Samsung GII on ATT and was happy with that phone before I switched to Verizon.

Regardless, I have a hard time giving up the battery life of the DRM. It's so nice to sometimes forget to charge over night but still have enough juice to get through an average day's usage. Plus the ICS videos that have leaked for the Razr look promising.
