So I will start out that this may not solve everyone's problems but I was getting a fluctuating signal for a while now.

There are apps that supposedly boost the signal of the phone. Well ever since I have ran it I have yet to have the signal issues that I ran into! Once again this may not help everyone but it may be a temporary fix until some update come out. The one I have downloaded is called network speed. Hope this helps someone out.

OMG My girls phone Is having the same darn issue, the phone signal keeps fluctuating from 0/1 bars to full bars ever since she got it hooked up this afternoon. I will try that app you suggested and get back to this thread at a later time. I wonder how many other people are having this same issue..
She previously had the lg keyboard slider by virgin and I have the identical phone from boost called the transform ultra and the signals on them phones are always between 2 to 4 bars at all times I have no clue what PRL is all about but have done some reading about it and I have checked for updates but that still does not fix the issue. God help us:thinking:

are there any paticular settings that I should have set?
And has anybody tested the other app called Network signal booster?
I am, but I don't think it did much, but the signal seems more stable (number of bars) just sitting here, I'm not sure which one the others are using.

I tried Network Signal Speed Booster as well, but I'm convinced it did nothing but reset my connection, basically went into airplane mode and came back out. My signal indicator was still all over the place.

Personally, I'm skeptical, but willing to try it.

I kind of have the impression that the phone may be powering down the radio for moments at a time to conserve battery and when it does, the signal drops. Wifi radios in laptops do this.

I'm using Network signal booster. It didn't do much for me in terms of my bars fluctuating but it certainly sped up my 3G connection.

I wonder if this fluctuation has something to do with the fact that the previous software was open to roaming.

Though as the previous poster said, This could be a battery saving setting. If it is, Would that be in a hidden menu somewhere or only accessible if you know how to dissect the software?

I don't see any settings for roaming like I used to on the older Androids.
Is there any "Set to home only" setting?
