I want to keep my unlimited. I finally broke down yesterday and pre ordered the Blue SGS3. Don't know whether to insert a frown or smiley so I will do both.

I still say GS3 is just too damn big! I looked at the Nexus again yesterday and even that is too big for my taste. While at the store I looked at the Rezound again and it could grow on me, but I'm still going to hold out for the Dinc 4G. I really like the 4 in screen size.
My OG Dinc is still working, and my upgrade isn't until Jan 13, but if the reviews are good enough, I'll pay full price for the Dinc 4G!

I like the 4in screen size too. Its good for a PHONE. Anything bigger is good as a media player. Anyways I've used the TMobile Galaxy S2 and the Nexus and neither of them were way too big for me, so I could put up with the GS3. I dont have big hands, but theyre not small either.

Not good news at all. I am getting the S 3 but my girl, who could care less about a new phone, doesn't want anything much bigger than our OG Dinc. I really want to get her on a new contract before the new data plans take effect. In a true women's style, right now she doesn't care, but as soon as the 28th hits she'll want a new phone for the subsidized price. Guess we will go play around in the VZW store this weekend to see if she can find something... besides an iPhone.

OK all - asking for advice. I have been eligible for a new phone since FEB. But I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the DInc 4G to come out. I was really hoping for some pre-announcement or pre-order today from Verizon sayting this phone was avaiable June 21 - but nothing and now a rumor of July or even August?!? Meanwhile, the Sammy G S3 preorder keeps pushing further out (today it's July 10th - yesterday it was July 9th). I need to do something to keep my unlimited, the G S3 is my 2nd choice with what phones Verizon is offering.
Would Verizon let me pre-order the G S3 and if the Dinc4G comes out June 21 - could I cancel the pre-order and get the DInc 4G instead?
Also - if I order the G S3 and had to keep it I would order the 32GB model. Would I get my money back for the price difference after the restocking fee if I exchanged for the Dinc 4G?
If so - that's what I'd like to do and like to do it today. This waiting game has gone on long enough.
Appreciate the input in advance.

Seriously guys, why are you ordering a phone you don't want just to keep your unlimited data? I know it's a matter of principle, but like me I bet most of you don't even come close to using 2gig of data\month. (Which is the equivalent of data you get for the $30 unlimited you are paying for now.) But if you are really that concerned about it, why not just by the device full retail? You can order that SIII but then you will only be locked in for the next 2 years anyway. Eventually you will have to either give up unlimited or buy full retail. Why prolong the decision? I honestly think eventually Verizon will make even the people paying full retail to keep unlimited data, chose a tiered data plan. JMO!!

I'm in the same boat... i'm waiting for the 21st. if there's no DInc by then i will pre order the GS3 even though i don't want it even a little bit - and then either trade it in before july 12th if the DInc comes out or... or i don't know anymore... get stuck with a monster samsung i guess.

Yep, thats what im doing. Preordering the S3 today and cancelling it next week if the Dinc comes out. You have to call customer service to cancel a preorder. I'll also try to see if I can swap out the S3 for the Dinc4g if it comes out in July. I'm going to try the S3 for a week though and see what I think of it before I try and swap out.

Because I am entitled to a subsidized phone and have been since Feb. 2012 and be allowed to keep my unlimited data. You are correct that I don't need unlimited but you never know if/when I do - why give it up? And why pay fulll price for a phone if I don't have to. I'll pay full next go around.

the 17th??? WTF Verizon! The only way i can feel alright about any of this if there is one guy sitting somewhere that controls all of these variables... he's reading this forum hourly, leaking photos & Maps... he even dropped that video the other day... deciding on arbitrary tiered data plans and superfluous dates and interweaving them with impossible coinciding releases and loopholes until there is only one person left on Big Red that actually ends up with the phone and plan that they want when they want it... he wins... The Highlander.

Just preorder it today and cancel your preorder if it comes out next week lol. Also I doubt they're ending preorders on the 17th, theres no supported evidence online about this.

Ok - just pre-ordered Samsung Galaxy S3 32 GB in Blue. Confirmed I can cancel and get Droid Inc 4G if it comes out next week - but at least I am getting a new phone and keeping my data plan. Who knows - maybe I'll like this phone - esp if it ships before the Doid Inc 4G comes out. But I'll keep trolling here for rumors, info, etc. Hoping I get the Droid Inc 4G as my Original DInc has been so good to me.

For what it's worth, I pulled the trigger on a SGS3 (in blue) to keep unlimited. But I also did the math:
Four phones 1. unlimited; 2. unlimited; 3. 4GB/mo; 4. 2GB/mo.
Actual usage for all lines sums to ~2GB/mo (someday I'll tell the saga of how I fought VZW to figure that out!)
Today, the plans+discounts add up to ~$235/mo (plus taxes & fees).
A Share Everything plan with 4 lines and 4GB/mo is ~$230.
So it's a wash if I don't mind losing "the possibility" of going way over plan.
But here's the kicker. Converting all lines or no lines is a wash, but only converting some lines costs ~$75/mo more. In other words, as soon as I don't want to fight to keep 2GB/mo or 4GB/mo on one of the lines, I'll shift all the lines over to Share Everything and lose unlimited. So, if losing unlimited is inevitable for me, I might just cancel the SGS3 preorder and wait for the 4G DInc. If I can keep limping along on my increasingly unstable OG DInc.

I'm hating Verizon more by the day. They had a 4GB promotion (instead of 2) for MONTHS... we should at least get that if we get downgraded out of our unlimited data >.< I wouldn't mind that nearly as much as 2 GB. That's a few hours of video and a few days of pandora - already gone.

I'm somewhat hopeful they will run a similar promotion in the future still. They are going to have to do something, they are getting hammered in most places I'm reading about. And it's only going to get worse when people switch to the new plan, and their bill goes up.

Been following this thread for a while (disappointingly!). But thought I'd mention something to keep in mind that I found out. Preordered a Blue 16gb S3 last night, read today that you can't move apps to SD card on it, I'm not sure if it's a samsung thing or an ICS thing because it sounds like it could be both. Something to keep in mind if you think you'll need more than 16gb for apps, just in case. Of course I'm still on my original Incredible w/ 149 mb, so 16gb seems huge (although I don't know exactly how much space all my apps take up now on my SD card...).
