Root Rooting? Busybox? Warranty Void?

Hi! I own a Samsung Y Pro Duos handset which is a week old. Very new to Android and have no clue of many technical terminologies used (like 'root' etc) With what little I could understand from the numerous threads I read, rooting means gaining access to system files, and when messed up with, the phone is gonna conk and get unrepairable, which has made me more tensed... (Am I right or have I got it all wrong?)

I was looking at changing the system fonts to something interesting. I did a google search and found out that this can be done by rooting the phone, which I do not want to do because I dont want my warranty to be void. (with my little knowledge on the technical details, if I happen to do anything wrong, I wont even be able to get it to a service center....)

I read an article which said an application called "FontSwitcher" can be installed on my Android device to change the system fonts but only if my device has Busybox installed. Now, I downloaded Busybox and also Fontswitcher and installed them on my phone.

Now, I suddenly am worrying (actually panicking) if my phone is "rooted" with this BUSYBOX? Is my warranty void now? I have not opened any of these softwares after installation though. Does this mean I must uninstall these two softwares immediately? Will the uninstallation mean that my phone becomes unrooted again?

On the other hand, IF the installation of Busybox or Fontswitcher does not mean any rooting, then can I keep them and change my system fonts? Is there any precautions I need to take before changing the system fonts?

Sorry if I am sounding DUMB but I am really new to Android and looking at exploring some options to make my phone interesting. But again, whatever I do, I want to do it safely and I dont want to risk losing warranty etc especially because this phone is very dear to me as it is a gift from a very special person!
