OK, after a bit of looking around I've found that AVCHD is .MTS
Just like Wave audio is .wav ....
But I'm still confused.

DLing as we speak, gonna try it out as Sony Vegas Pro 10 seem really advanced, although I could probably learn it...

Well, I have a way to get After Effect free if you're interested? Anyway, the easiest would be Windows Movie Maker, then next in line would be Vegas... And the rest I'm not really familiar with.
