Root [International] How to root and flash S3?

I read both guides before rooting so can't really say where I obtained my knowledge from but I did like the screenshots in the guide from nztechfreak.

However one poster above was confused about the addition of the second section which was retained for legacy purposes, so maybe the guide would benefit from dropping that section.

@nztechfreak: suroot's comment about having guides maintained in-house is valid and I'm sure if you ported it over here into the root guide forum many people would be very appreciative, myself included.

I'm very familiar with rooting so I'm not a noob. I'm also a prolific guide and faq writer if you see my posts created.

Although the NZ guide gave me the info about kies, I found using it not as easy as the xda one. Perhaps its a layout thing?

Also I really disagree with root guides going off site. The confidence that the guide is maintained by local forum resources and kept up to date is minimal.

Er, where on earth did you get the impression I was calling you a noob? I was rather specific about it being the OP, who literally said he/she was a noob.

Reasonable point about having the guide in-house, but there is a fair amount of work put into that, and I have no desire to put more work into replicating it here (I work full time, have a family, other interests, and blog and participate in forums as a hobby).

I'd probably feel more inclined to port the guide if Androidforums was a better community, but seriously most here are too lazy to even hit a thanks button, so I feel no obligation whatsoever to do more than I already do to help (which is more than 95% of other posters here as it is).

I'm sure at some point someone will want to put a guide up here, in the meantime I check my guide post regularly to see if people are after assistance.

Sorry, I didn't really reply in a manor that makes sense. I know you didn't call me a noob. I was trying to say that I'm not a noob so its hard for me to comment on how noob freindly it is. I should have been clearer.

You could just post your guide in a thread here and we could make suggestion layouts for you ;)

I agree that some are lazy but people do definitely thank.

If you want, I could "port" your guide and lay it out how I think it works (giving you credit for the original work)? Although I'd rather you did it and received the thanks you deserve.
