Root [ROM] Deck's ReLoaded | LOTK | Ver 500 RLS

I just ran across it tonight and it got me wondering, that's all. Eh, maybe I'll just leave it be. I like to tinker, but not before I research about things I don't know about.:p

The problem I see with changing those is that the screen pretty much flickers in and out quickly as lighting changes. If your riding in the car using the device (in the passenger seat of course :p) the screen will flicker as it goes through shadows that you pass by. Its really annoying (I believe MIUI had something like this). I think the stock setup averages values to make it smoother.

Thanks Rxpert, another reason to leave it be huh? No prob.;)

Your evo build is a tough one then. 004 or 002 I'll bet.

how many hardware versions are there?

I have a hardware version 3 for a spare and my main use one is hardware version 4. my version 4 the front facing cam doesnt work, just has green vertical lines, I outlined this in previous post, and the odd screen on actions but not as bad as the last guy spoke of, as long as screen on animation is checked it doesnt have problems.

My version 3 phone seems to work perfectly.

Hundreds of variants but technically 4 hardware builds.

you got an early 004. The cam was a known issue. You had to upgrade to an ota at the time to fix it then root it with s-off. Now you can just flash the stock rooted ota that fixed it then come on back. I don't know the ota you needed at the time which fixed your cam. is been so long ago for me now. So yeah, this rom is not the issue.

Been searching/reading about the same issue I am having as this persons' post--
[ROM] Deck's ReLoaded | LOTK | Team DIRT | Ver. 44 Mag RLS | 5-25-12 - Page 252 - xda-developers post 2511, then rope's response post 2516.
Not that I reboot often, and I have come to the conclusion, and tell me if I'm wrong, that if I get a, say, 16gb class 6 card, my issues will be gone.
I currently have a 32gb class 10 card. Not running firerat, partitioned ext-4, running dta2sd beta 4, dalvik on ext-4, apps run from ext4, not using go launcher.
Currently the only way to fix my issue is to run a2sd repair, fix uid perm. in recovery (smelkus), set up gmail/contacts again (they sync automatically),
re install all my widgets on home screen (they were all widgets to begin with anyway using Folder Organizer app)...a little time consuming.
So, bottom line I think is to get a slower card?

hey Mike!

i didn't really understand what Rop said about converting your launcher to a system app, did you?

One idea i had was just to re-partition your card but just upgrade it to ext 3. He says the problem is with ext 4, I am thinking that means exclusively?

An added bene from running from ext 3 is that the partition is usable for other cool roms, such as mikg3.11.... etc.

not exclusively. Go launcher is a user app. Change it to a system app. By doing so If when you reboot you "lose" your apps a reboot will restore them and you wont lose your widgets or your launcher. Finally, unless you have less than 125 megs of internal memory there's no need to run your dalvik from your sd in which case problem solved anyway.

Hey dust,
no didnt understand the launcher conversion but I had that problem with ext 3, I converted to ext 4, but funny thing now is, I ran, in term emulator, the command mount | grep sd-ext and it says ext 3!!
I KNOW I converted to ext 4.
I'll have to research that now:rolleyes:
Not really worried about if I do have ext 4 and have it being unusable with sense roms, I'll worry about that later.

from titanium, long press golauncher and select convert to system app. This is akin to placing the golauncher app into the /system/app folder and changing the permissions to rw-,r--,r--. If it says ext 3, you have ext 3. Keep it there if you ever want to go back and forth to sense roms anyway.

I'm using stock launcher. I want ext 4. Can I redo upgrade to ext 4 via recovery with no repercussions?

Yeah, i had read that in TB but never used it. i hadn't read where he was using a custom launcher and figured the stock launcher was a system app, so I didn't know if that was what you were referring to.

Just for anyone's fyi, I booted into recovery, made backup, re-converted from ext3 to ext4, rebooted all widgets and apps appeared fine. Checked in terminal emulator mount | grep sd-ext and I am running from ext4 like I want. Don't know why it didn't take before when I upgraded to ext4 but now it did:D

Edit: guess what it all boils down to is an a2sd thing, not rom. The rom boots up fast before a2sd gets to do its thing.
It is a fast rom, smooth also. Never really have to go into recovery to wipe cache/dalvik to fix issues at all like when I was on another rom.
