Need Instructions to improve my skills.

I am a college graduate and looking for learning web development and programming. Can someone please advice me what are the best languages to start with and good for getting a software job in current situations. I hope

If you are brand new to programming, then I would suggest you to take MIT online introduction to programming: MIT OpenCourseWare | Electrical Engineering and Computer Science | 6.00 Introduction to Computer Science and Programming, Fall 2008 | Home

The course is completely free and provides video of the lectures, assignments, and a forum to discuss the projects. The course will teach you Python. I think that this course would lay a good framework from which you could easily jump to other languages.
