Experimental Stock Build .2233 -Latest Bionic Leak discussion

Not sure I follow. If I drop a shortcut on top of another one, in either the dock or the row above it, it just creates a folder. If I tap it, it opens and displays "Unnamed Folder" at the bottom, so it's definitely a folder. Tapping the "Unnamed Folder" text allows me to me rename it.

Very cool, didn't realize you could do that on the second row. And just realized myself about renaming the folder. I guess it definitely is a folder, just not in the GB sense, where a folder is just the app tray with selected apps. At least that's how I remember it any way.

This is a new ICS feature isn't it? I thought you were being a wise guy earlier when you said " nice feature" possibly not realizing what I was talking about.

Thanks for the tip.

Yes, it's a new feature in ICS. I've actually been using these folders for awhile via the ICS theme for GO Launcher on Gingerbread. Nice to see the real thing in action now on the ICS leak. Oh, and you can create them anywhere on any home screen, not just the dock and first row. I only mentioned those because I was trying to reproduce your steps, in case you had found some different functionality I was missing. ;-)

Just want to make sure I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Anyone on the ICS leaks, can you watch videos in the browser?

Here's a trailer for Breaking Bad on IGN.com . I can't get it to play, anyone else can?

New Breaking Bad: Season 5 Trailer - IGN

I've tried stock, Dolphin HD, Chrome, etc. I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled Flash from the market. I've done factory resets and cache clears on the ICS rom. I've tried modified Flash apk's from XDA that people said would fix some issues. Nothing has helped.

I can watch videos in the YouTube app, I can watch videos using other video player apps, but anything viewed directly on a webpage in the browser either doesn't play or locks up the browser entirely.

I know Flash is no longer going to be supported on mobile devices but they said there would be support through Android version 4.0.x so it should still work.

I almost want to go back to a Gingerbread rom except that the new webtop is so much better.

Why the heck was this merged into this thread? This thread shouldn't be about getting flash to play it should be about the features or ICS on Bionic or how get it installed. Combobulation.

Anyway, last night after I saw your post I tried the vid, couldn't get it to play in any browser. I know I had played embeded flash earlier in the day. Tried a lot of things, clearing cache...etc. It donned on me that maybe ICS was restricting something due to my low battery level. so last night just before bed I plugged the phone in and was able to watch and embeded video, the one on this page using dolphin HD browser.

But was still unable to play the video that you posted.

But now it's not working today, don't have a cable with me to test though.

decided to take the plunge. Everything seems to be going ok, except it has been on the screen Upgrading Media Database for a few hours now.

Is this normal, I do have around 6GB+ of MP3's on the system.

I currently have it on the charging cable as well since it was going to run out of juice.

Ok, got it working after a batery pull, when I woke up this morning it was still on the Upgrading Media Database screen.

But new problem. seems none of my mp3 players are working. Act like they are playing but are not. The dock dose not load up when I put it in (freezes)
and the webtop crashes

I am on system version 6.7.2233.XT875.
Android Version 4.0.4
Webtop version wt-3.0.0

Hi mhome

This thread is going to be obsolete once the official release comes out so some support questions won't hurt it that much, IMO. However, you gave me an idea!!! ding ding. I don't see a ICS leak bugs/issues thread where we can post bugs we find in the leak. It'll give us a place to post the bugs or issues and we can cross check it to see if it was fixed in the official release. Thank you for that!

If it's alright with everyone, I've seen a few posts including mine where we talked about bugs that we found. I thought I'd merge those posts in that ICS leak bugs/issues thread. However, I'll probably need a mods help with that.

I hope everyone is still enjoying the ICS leak. I can't wait for the release!

yes. but you will most likely have to use rsdlite to flash back to 5.9.902 let the update to 5.9.905 happen and the be able to take ics ota.

Thanks dfib,
When I eventually try to rsdlite flash back to 902, is it best to use a laptop or the usb on the back of a pc?

I will keep the rest of my questions regarding this in your other rsdlite thread.

Thx

either one as long as the usb is part of the mother board and not attached by a wire. All the usb ports on a laptop are part of the board as is the same on the back of a pc. The ones in the front of a pc are usually "soft wired".

Thanks! Oh, last question...does it matter if XP or Win 7? :)

If I flash this do I need to be on my stock 905 rom with all my frozen apps defrosted? I'm on eclipse 3.0 right now would I be able to flash straight from there?

Most definitely. Stock everything including the recovery. I came from Eclipse too. I FXZ'd back to stock 902 then took the 905 update and then installed the 2233 leak via stock recovery.

I'm so used to my old DX and the methods used to load a ROM/Leak that I'm a bit confused on the process for the Bionic.

Could someone list the steps for me to load the ICS leak? I'm unrooted and on the 905 build. I've downloaded the file to my Mac.

Thanks.

-put the ICS zip file on your external sd card
-power off phone
-hold both vol+ and vol- and press power button
-select "Recovery"
-when you see the android guy with the ! on him, press both vol+ and vol-
-select "apply update from external storage"
-select the ICS leak file
Enjoy.

If I missed anything, someone chime in :D and thanks to all who made this possible

so I can't be on my rooted stock rom I have to be completely stock?

That's what I needed to do. I tried uninstalling safestrap, but still got that "series 7" error while trying to flash the update.

Did not work until I fxz'd to 902 then took the 905 OTA update. Someone said they were able to root 905 then use Voodoo to keep root after updating to the leak, but I did not want to chance installing Bionic Bootstrap and finding out that that would give me a problem anyway.

I avoided fxz'ing as much as possible, but in the end it was totally worth it. Like many others have said, having this update is like having a whole new phone.

Loving this leak so far! Just wanted to report the few issues I have that I'm not sure have been reported yet:

- After long-pressing the home screen to add widgets, I get a pop-up sub menu with the different widget icons, but the labels seem to be white letters on white background
- Having difficulty using Apex launcher with a 6 x 4 configuration when rotating the phone. I set default to 6 rows, 4 columns, and the landscape to 4 rows, six columns. Rotating the phone makes my icons at the bottom disappear. Easy fix is just to use 4 x 4, just something I noticed.
- Sometimes having difficulty loading embedded pics/videos in e-mails. Sometimes they show up after a short wait, but sometimes I just get an empty box with a question mark inside of it.

I've read that the stock home launcher is kind of buggy with webtop. Best one for me seems to be ADW EX believe it or not. The landscape thing I mentioned above kind of makes Apex hard to use (unless I decide to stay with the 4x4 configuration.)

All in all, the good definitely outweighs these minor things. Especially loving the way Kindle looks in webtop! Very tablet-like. Definitely better than the Kindle with keyboard I just gave my parents.

Faster, less network drops. Plus - ICS just looks nicer in my opinion.

I really don't want to have to fxz my phone, thankfully I've never had to do it before, I've been rooting and flashing roms since February. so I should uninstall safestrap before trying? also, this may seem like a silly question and I was gonna do it anyway. do I need to wipe data/cache before applying the update?
