Accessories - what have you found?

Got the trident aegis case and like the case but it does not fit into either dock I have. Has anyone seen a dock that will work with the phone in the case? Taking the case on and off all the time would be a pain.

Has anyone found a stand-alone car charger for cheap? I dont want to get a cheapo miniUSB car charger. an HTC/OEM charger for cheap would be nice to have for the car.

I bought the car kit listed earlier in this thread for $11 and it comes with an OEM HTC charger, even has a second USB port for charging an additional device.

I've been looking for something like this ever since I've switched from my iPod to Android:

Does such a thing exist that would work for the Evo V? It'd be a simple controlpad that plugs into the headset jack and then has a headset jack on the other end. I've seen some bluetooth devices that do this, as well as some earbuds with audio controls. But I'm looking for something exactly like the item I linked to (without the iPhone connector of course

).

Sorry I can't provide a link. They do make a pushbutton type adapter for adding a microphone to a headphone for mobile phones. That would be about the closest to the Apple iPod/iPhone type control you mention. It has a button for pause, fast forward and reverse. I saw it mentioned on a thread along with a link over on XDA but which forum I can't say.

But this is by far the best one with builtin charger and is does not bounce around when mounted in the car at all, like all others i have used.. and you dont feel like the phone is going to fallout . the guy only has 5 left after buying another one for my other car LOL $11.65 Shipped is the best deal with charger / cable and Dock

I got mine this week and, while I haven't used it yet, it is quite nice. What really impressed me is that not only did I pay $11 but it was also sent Priority USPS (2 day shipping but not guaranteed), so I had it very quickly.

Odd question but is there any sort of adapter that would be able to take a dock mount and become a chord mount? With my new case I cannot dock my phone on my Fidelio dock. It can still use blue tooth to play but I have to actually remove the outer shell to get the phone into the dock long enough to get blue tooth To connect. It will play unconnected over blue tooth but apparently has to be docked long enough to get the connection. I just get tired of fighting that outer case every night.

I bought a case and I pretty much never use it. The phone is durable and uses gorilla glass so I dont really havr any worries about it

In you guys' opinions, does this phone NEED a case? As long as I have a screen protector, there's nothing external that can get damaged. Besides absorbing shock from a drop, do I need it? What do you think? I'd just be getting a simple TPU case from ebay.

I can't claim to have any real knowledge, but my opinion is that tpu cases are worth it.

They offer shock protection, put a ridge around the screen (protects screen from landing on grain of sand), and provide a better grip. I think this is about all you can ask of a case.

I have been better with phones, by using belt cases, but I was really hard on PDAs in the past. I have a shelf of broken hardware.

I don't really believe in screen protectors, as I never found any that didn't make the screen worse. And my experience has been the device breaks or is outdated before the screen is scratched.

Seidio, better known for batteries, extended batteries and cases, makes a dock with an insert designed to be removed to allow the phone to dock while using their cases. They also make a car dock with the same sort of removable insert. Amazon had both. Each costs $40+.

as long as you take care of your phone, I have never needed a case for any of my phones. I am not exactly soft with my phones but i dont throw them around either, when it isnt in my pocket its on my desk.

TL;DR if you take care of your phone you really dont need one. however if you are truly worried about possibly messing it up, go ahead and grab one...personally the cases make it go from "fits my hand perfectly" to "just a little too big"

I got a nice tpu case from Amazon. I like the feel it adds and its nice knowing you have at least some protection if you accidentally drop it. I'd say the couple bucks for a tpu case is much cheaper than a new 300 dollar phone. Plus I like that I can put my phone down without worrying if I'm going to scratch the camera.

Idk if anyone else noticed this or had this same outcome.... But with a better battery my phone SEEMS faster (the phone itself) and more responsive... I had the same thing happ wen I put my 3850 in my LG Connect 4G... Anyone experience the same?

Mine fell onto thin carpet (with no padding) or onto concrete, not sure which, from 7 feet the other day, it damaged a corner of the battery cover to where it wouldn't quite sit flush. Otherwise, the phone survived fine.

You might think that would convince me to get a cover now, but quite the opposite, if it survived that, it will survive shorter falls with no problems. How often is your phone 7 feet off the ground over concrete or thin, unpadded carpet? Most falls are from your hand or a table.

Just thought I'd mention, I bought an iPod 2/3 Zagg bluetooth keyboard for my HP Touchpad and it works perfectly with the EVO too. I actually charge the EVO while resting in the slot on the keyboard! Makes a pretty cool place to charge, and I can type searches, fb updates, etc. on a real keyboard!

Probably 95% of the dings on the outside of my wildfire are from dropping it on concrete without a case. I've had plenty of TPU cases for my wildfire and I always take them off and then I ding my phone. The wildfire is also a total plastic outer, and it seems like the EVO has a lot more to it; better materials. Maybe I should just invest in another $2 ebay TPU, aha. Except I want the plum EVO from BB and I'd get a clear TPU but I had a clear TPU for my wildfire and it got dirty really quickly, but I also have a white wildfire, so, hm.
I mean a screen protector is a no-brainer but, I might as well have the comfort of knowing my phone won't get dinged up.

I want the Plum, so - clear or purple? :3

I got the purple one via Amazon instead of eBay but I'm sure it's the same. Looks good but rather hides the plum-ness of my phone. I think you'll prefer clear if you want to show off the color.

I have purple-on-plum too, and I actually really like it. they go together well. I personally would do the purple. I got mine on Amazon for like $3 shipped. (Screen protectors + case = $5 shipped.)

i see that he listed up some more thats good for any one who would like to get them one .. thats the guy i order the 2 i got from.. he super fast on the shipping .. and the dock works great best one i have used so far .. you should be happy with it . and the charger is a super plus that comes with it.
