I've had my 3D for a while now and still love it. I rooted it a few months ago and have been as happy as the day I got it. I have been able to play with a few ROMs and am currently running MeanROM ICS 2.3. The battery life is outstanding and ICS is pretty fun to play with. I wasn't going to root it but then I just couldn't wait for the official ICS update to roll around. Glad I took the plunge and went with MeanROM as my daily driver.

After a screen replacement and a month later the screen stops responding again I must say im disgusted with this phone, I should have kept my EVO this phone for lack of a better word SUCKS.

Now I have to wait for a 3D replacement which is backordered from Sprint. So im going to get another crappy 3D.

I out of contract and Sprint is throwing incentives my way to get me back under contract.Samsung Galaxy III here I come, HTC has left a bad taste in my mouth after this one.

I still like my 3DVO but this damn Seidio extended battery is worse than the standard battery now. Maybe I've overcharged it on several occasions, but I've also let it drain completely and recharged it, only to have the same results. It's done in less than a day if I use it more than 5 hours straight. I guess that irrelevant to the question, but it does affect my enjoyment of the device.

Overall, I like my 3DVO. I don't watch 3D movies or play 3D games on it as much as I use to - nor do I visit Phero to view 3D photos like I use to, but I still support the 3D technology. In fact, I finally came around to buying a 3D television to hook up my 3DVO to recently. It's a shame that HTC and Sprint will no longer support this device, but I will continue to do so for quite some time. Today's 3D technology is still the driving force behind me keeping this and other 3D devices in my arsenal, so I hope that at some point HTC will revisit the glasses free 3D technology, either through a tablet or smartphone... And when they do, they'll have a customer waiting for it.

I've also bought a 3D tv recently and my phone has come into it's own now that I can finally view my photos and videos on a bigger screen. What I'd really like is a wrist strap hole for that extra bit of security! Or some kind of peripheral that gives you a hand grip so it can be held better when videoing.

I have a holiday coming up and I'll be taking a lot of 3D pics and vids :)

Care to elaborate? I mean, I can see where it might not be a good fit for some people, but calling it garbage? That seems a bit extreme. Of course you might have a bad one, in which case a replacement would seem warranted.

Well, you know the common customer.. one bad experience and *poof* that product/service is "garbage"

I bought the EVO 3d over a year ago and loved the fact of taking 3d pictures. There is just something about the nerd tekkie in me that it appeals to. I rooted my phone to do the Wifi and it was a wonderful thing. I am currently deployed and my phone has been deactivated, but I can use the wifi. I learned about the update and spent 2 days getting my phone rooted again and the new ICS and s-off (nice touch with the "wire trick"). Now that I can display the 3d pictures as wallpaper, and the added rooted programs (plus I love the look of SENSE widgets that take up the entire screen for information, my EVO 3d has been born again. Also the use of the assistant and gesture launcher, my screen isn't littered with icons. Just widgets that show time, news, people, messages, email, music, friendstream, and bookmarks. I was looking into buying the Samsung Galaxy III, but if I can continue to get SENSE widget updates, root my phone for off the wall apps, and use the assistant to activate and make gestures on the phone for apps, MAKE MINE EVO 3D

Let me tell you my story... When i first went to sprint the newest phone out was the evo 3d. so i got mine then. rooted it had free hotspot, viper rom and a few other nice addon's. I believe i had it for 4 to 5 months. Then suddenly lost it. I called the insuranc company and they told me that there were no 3d's in stock that they would have to send a galaxy s2. i debated it for a while because i was in love with my evo. but did it anyways. got it in the mail pretty fast. then went to root it. i tried for months to get it connected to my pc and never got it so i went back to sprint 3 times for a replacement and still no luck. I just recently called my insurance company and told them the same thing i just told you... except the rooting part lol... they told me i was in luck that they had 1 evo 3d in stock and available. Im so glad to get my evo 3d back its now rooted on hboot 1.58 currently using TWRP for my recovery. using Cool ICS V10 on stock kernel. overclocked to 1178 i do believe. i have no adds and my battery life is great! so in my opinion from when the evo first came out to now it has came a long way indeen and im loving it. thanks for the time guys. glad i could put in my two sence lol

I got the replacement Seidio battery literally just days from the 1 year warranty expiration date. Unfortunately, when I got the replacement battery it seemed no different than the one that I had. I have to charge my phone daily, so I' thinking what's the point of having it. I might as well switch back to the standard battery. I've had the extended battery for so long that I have to admit that it would feel weird to have a flat phone in my pocket... I know it did during that week when I RMA'd it.

Nonetheless, I still like the phone. I don't demand too much from it aside from playing games, texting, using the internet, and calling friends and family, so I guess you can say it's a perfect fit. Since movie studios are still cranking out 3D movies, I hope that HTC or someone will notice the resurgeance and make another 3D phone. Because when that hapens, I'll be first in line for it.

My family wanted iPhones, so I had to get iPhone 5. The WiMAX never really was consistent enough to use fully. LTE has much better ping time. Two bars. If I open the glass window, 4 bars and ridiculous speeds that embarrass my home internet. iOS doesn't get as blotted as android does over time, like a windows pc. It's like on the iPhone, the response to a click is always the same, the UI doesn't get bogged down. I can have the iPhone in my pocket and it is so small and light I don't even know its there. I love the new jaw dropping features on android and the evo 3d is awesome hardware that I will not be getting rid of, but the iPhone is just a little more reliable and polished in usage.

I was going to get the HTC Evo 4G LTE and trigger a 2-year contract renewal. But frankly, I really didn't want to make that commitment with Sprint again. Then I learned about the MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) called Ting, which operates on the Sprint network. Significant savings and you're not locked into any contract. Plus, no $10/mo surcharge for 3G/4G phones. And, you can bring your own phone if it falls within their list. The Evo 3D does. I had a chance to test out the Evo 3D against the Evo 4G and the Evo LTE. Yeah, the LTE is faster and lighter, but not by enormous leaps and bounds. I was able to get a very good condition one for less than $90 shipped. After rooting it and doing some tweaks, I have to say it's a terrific phone. I'll be happy with this for at least a year, until the Evo LTE used phones become available at decent prices.

Hey Brian, which ROM are you running? My complaint w/ the phone at this point is basically the clumsiness of the official ICS ROM and the short battery life.

Currently I'm using pacman rom.

It (and all jellybean roms for 3vo are aosp roms. You have to flash them knowing they are. Work in progress and things are broken. Imo, that's part of the fun and totally worth it

Can someone PLEASE help me... Like so many people out there I'm addicted to Angry Birds. And for the last few months since I've updated the OS, I keep getting these error messages when I update any version of Angry Birds. I have each of the apps set for automatic updates, so after the file downloads, it'll say "Package File Invalid", and nothing else will happen. I end up deteting the error message, and all of my angry bird versions will stay the same.

Is it Rovio's files, or is it something on my 3DVO that's preventing the updates? Because all of my other apps update as they normally would.

Have you tried manually updated and not letting it update on its own?

Also try clearing cache/data of the market as well.
