To download all you need to do is say thanks! :D

Has quite a strong following and all signs are that this is one of the better bunch. Especially if AOKP is your thing.

I'm going to give it a whirl before trying NEAT. Two completely different ROMS.

If anyone else has tried RootBOX out share your experiences here.

RD out.

Ive been on Rootbox since V1.0, its very stable and very fast, together with Siyah @ -50 uv and using pegasusq im easily getting 2+ days from the battery.

Its the tweakability of the rom right from the word go, installing with Aroma and choosing Kernels, themes, Gapps, which music player you want etc etc etc , to the mods that users are bringing out not too mention how helpful Bajee (the dev) is that to me makes this one stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Once installed you get Rom control to mess with clock positioning, battery style, lockscreen options, Weather options etc. Then all the performance options choosing governers/scaling max and minimum, yes i know its all standard AOKP fare but Rootbox really is that good at what it does.

The choice of launchers is also different on RB, the LG launcher (as pictured in above post) is nice and fluid and the SGS3 icons make it feel different (in a good way).In the latest updates Touchwiz launcher has been introduced which at first seemed strange on AOKP but ive got to admit i do like it although i dont use it just because of the lack of customisation available for it.

I followed Bajee over from RR when i seen his first post about his own rom ,It started stable and now its at its 4th update in about a 4 week life span the rom really has gone from strength to strength

Ive been using RB as my daily driver since v1,0 and its the longest a rom has stayed on my phone since the days of CRR.

hope i havent bored you all to death

There are a couple of niggles but all things that can be ironed out. For me the only problem so far is when someone sends a V-card/contact it appears blank in my messeges.
Also for alot of changes to work , reboots are required , which are not always clear. But this is only a small problem.
Not one FC so far and without changing settings I had a decent 18 hour fair usage on the battery. I'll of course post up pictures on the next cycle.

Customisation is tip top and standard AOKP , as explained by iT0mm0, but something about this ROM is just so damn sexy. It's the pimp daddy of AOKP roms.
I'd say something CheckROM was doing with AOSP. Big logos and fancy options screens.
Like CheckROM V6 however it delivers the goods under the hood too.

I know by now alot of you are pretty settled , not alot is going to change for S2 owners now. But does that mean you should stop having fun with your handset?
I have NEAT on the back up list If I decide on something less fancy and a more bog standard Android experience in the future.

For now Im enjoying this alternative functionality Team Kang brings to the table and RootBOX is definitely a choice way to do it.

And yes ...yes thats the damn mother fudding Rudedawg network you see in the last image. ;)

This is my first time on an AOKP rom, I only tried it due to your post here, figured i'd give it a go. It seems very smooth, haven't had any FC's(fingers crossed) battery life seems very good. I haven't ran into any issues with the rom itself.

Just a couple personal preferences I'm not so fond of with it(maybe they are able to be changed and i just missed the option):
1. The scrolling is smooth, but it feels slow compared to other ROMs, I need to slide my finger up several times to scroll to the bottom of a page.

2. Auto brightness seems to like having a very dark screen, makes it difficult to see sometimes.

3. my "external_SD" folder is empty, all the files which were there now appear to be in a folder called "emmc" which i can't seem to find.

this problem is still bothering me, does anyone know how to change this, if it is possible?

From my experience on all aokp roms I have flashed, scrolling is definitely different from Sammy. The thrust isn't as "far" if you know what I mean. It doesn't stutter, but it's a similar scrolling seen on the iphone.

yea, it isn't a problem with the rom, just a personal preference. I'm actually starting to get used to it now, which is good :D

On AKOP roms you view your sd card is with the emmc file, that's just how it is.

What file explorer are you using? Usually you just have to make sure that you are at the most parent directory and you will see it listed there. Hope this helps.

edit:

The only rom I have seen that allows you to change the view for the sd card is Dragon. When you install that rom it asks you if you want to view the sd card as emmc or as external sd card. But to the best of my knowledge that is the only one that does that.

im using ES File Manager / Explorer. I've found the folder now, thanks to you help. still bit of an awkward place for it to be in.

Thank you for telling me about dragon, i will either try that rom to see how i like it, or i will look around its file system to see how it is mounting the emmc as external sd, i have a small clue where it would be, so hopefully this is the start to me figuring something out :)

I was told by some wise people around here that it is not a good idea to mess with the emmc file. By that I mean renaming it or moving it around. If you know what you are doing, then by all means continue......but if you don't, I would proceed very cautiously.

Yours was one of the posts i found while googling about this issue. I've also come across an answer to my problem that works for me (here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM][13.05]HyDrOG3N-ICS 13.05[KERNELAPP/SENSE/THEMEMANAGER])

I wasn't moving the file, i "mounted" it, which basically creates a link to the emmc folder, if i access the external_sd folder

Can't get it to boot.

I did a nandroid backup of 1.4, tried Siyah and couldn't get past the Siyah logo, tried Flux and couldn't get past the S2 screen, changed the Jelly Bean animation option back to stock in the Aroma installer...still no joy.

I did full wipe and Hawker's Nuke script (1.3) each time.

The only things I've done differently than the RB 1.4 install is leave lockscreen vibration at default in 1.5 (disabled it in 1.4 Aroma install) and used ROMNuke 1.3.

EDIT: Sorted now, uninstalled ex-tweaks and rebooted after data reset to remove my custom network label....still had the installer FC on me once after these steps though.

I do really like this ROM's look and tweakability but it's still a bit undercooked in places...the power button fast torch is excellent until it reboots the phone! :D

Woo I'm excited for 1.5, time to do some downloading :D

EDIT: Liking the new ROM, not too excited about the contact screen, seems like ICS is all black and blue, but for some reason the contact screen is now white and blue? o.o

Be careful creating new mount points for your external SD card, as you will mess up your gallery as you will have duplicate entries for every folder with image files inside.

I haven't had this issue, but as an alternative there is this free app made by someone from XDA https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.qbanin.binder&hl=en which mounts external_sd, then unmounts the old file, so the files don't show up twice

To anyone thinking about giving this rom a whirl, I really encourage you to do so. I have done my fair share of rom swapping up until now but have settled on RootBOX for the longest.

The AROMA installer is used to great effect, giving you great customization from the outset. It's smooth, no bloat and so far I have had no FC's. Very impressed.

I have mine set up with Siyah kernel and Apex launcher, giving me a very stable system.

It's great to see roms of this quality still being developed when a certain 'other galaxy' has moved into the limelight.

+1 for rootbox.

One of the issues with the aokp roms in the past was the time spent having to get it set up.
With the aroma installer, thats not an issue anymore. The only configuartion and tweaking is on stuff that aosp roms cant do (or need jkay), so you don't have to do it if you dont want to.

Best rom I've used and now my daily driver.

Got a problem now :( Two times today when phone is idle and I want to use it, it only shows black screen and I have to hold in power buttom for 10 seconds to restart. System info is under my nick in this forum. Is this a known problem? How do I fix it? Follow steps to the point when flashing. Came from another room (Dragon). Used Titanium Backup to restore apps (no system apps).
