I used to be a guide for the DX section... went to a GNex and after my 6th replacement messing up for some reason or another I've now convinced Verizon to put me into a Razr Maxx...

I'm on ICS w/ KOA AOKP and loving this phone... gonna try to be active here and I do know how to root/rom/hack this phone... so I'm more than capable to help people... just ask away. Nice to be back to my roots my friends...

Hey SimsDelt. I am trying to OTA Upgrade to ICS. I am rooted, do have safestrap, OTA Rootkeeper. I have used the temp unroot in OTA Rootkeeper and tried the install and had it fail. oh yeah on 181 if that helps. What am I doing wrong?

BTW I noticed you are in Bremen...I used to be a Tallapoossa resident

Thanks Aaron

I think you need to uninstall safe strap before an ota.

You need to get Droid Razr Utility 1.7 [For Ics And Those Who Want To Go To Ics] - DroidRzr.com
and follow his guide... I was on GB when I got my Razr Maxx and this basically flashed the stock GB files and then makes it so you can upgrade to ICS OTA.

(make sure you have downloaded the OTA and placed it on your ext-sdcard) (also, his guide/script will wipe your data, backup your data to your computer before doing this) to be honest once you boot into your recover before manualing installing ICS you should wipe data/cache (factory reset) anyway... just to get a clean install.

I got a question too...my phone rooted easy as pie the other day using that utility you linked to up there.

But I keep seeing reference to something I'm not exactly sure of...I put the OTA on ext-SD before I rooted or anything...but I have seen some people say that the OTA needs to be in a certain place on the SD (example: some have said it needs to be in the root of the SD)

Can you clarify this for me please?

This is the first phone I've rooted and its working fine...but just in case I want to unroot for whatever reason I want to make sure I have dotted the "I's" and crossed the "T's" if you know what I mean.

This is all pretty new to me...I can find my way around a PC pretty good...but I'm a total newb on Android.

I think I figured it out...what the "root" of the SD is I mean.

This is what I have...viewed in Root Explorer.

Is that as it should be?
