Not sure what Samsung is thinking...

My current Samsung Omnia 2 (WM 6.5) was only available in red, but I never notice it much (particularly since it was darker, holstered and don't look at the back much :)):

Still can't figure out how Big Blue ended up with Red instead of Big Red :)

OMG.. I forgot how thick phones were just a few years ago:p

On a side note it appears many who got the sprint version are having signal issues. I hope this is not going to be another repeat of the g nex otherwise it will be going back before the 14 days are up. Anyone Else Having Sprint GS III Radio Issues?? - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

But wasn't the g nex software supplied by google? not samsung? and since this is a "flagship device" it should get samsung's attention?

I'm not buying right away....I'll wait and see once it is released on verizon.

I've just gotta put my .02 in here. All this discussion over the color, and yet you are going to cover it up with a case the instant it arrives. :D
People keep saying this and I don't get it. Which case is it that covers all of the color on the phone, leaving only the screen visible? 'Cause I can tell the phone color on every phone I see in a case.

Pardon me but this is a Galaxy S III release thread. Please post question on Galaxy Nexus in another thread. This thread is long enough with half of the posts are off topics.

No, he was in the right forum. He is talking about the s3. He is asking if the galaxy s3 is coming to verizon. he said he doubts it since verizon has the nexus lol.

I hear you, that case I chose shows almost the entire face of the phone, with good protection. I have no idea of any case that covers the entire phone in a way that only the screen is visible.

Keep in mind, as you wave that $10 bill around, that Verizon said the phones would ship BY July 9th... not necessarily ON it.

Typically the phones are sent by 2-day FedEx a few days in advance of release so that, theoretically, everyone gets their phones at the same time: store customers and pre-orders. But it's not unusual for some folks in the pre-order gang to get their phones a day or two BEFORE release...

In this case, I would imagine VZW releasing the first batch on Friday so that they reach their destinations Monday. But a lot of folks might get theirs on Saturday. Depends on where you live, I suppose.

That $10 sure is looking good to me... Daddy needs new apps

:)

EDIT: I could be wrong, of course. They may wait and ship out Monday, so everyone gets the phone on the 11th or even 12th. But I have received things early.
Posted this once before, but it's worth posting again for those that missed it.

I don't know when VZW switched from "Free Overnight Shipping!" to generic "Free Shipping" like they have now, but I know when I placed my order on 6/12 the free overnight shipping was still an option. Whether VZW decides to honor that is another thing.

I haven't seen one up close yet, but at least from the following pictures, I still like the blue over white (linked from here):

I would agree with you, IF the actual phone resembled those pics in any way. In fact, I do agree, since I ordered a blue one based on similar pics. It doesn't resemble the pics, unfortunately. Not even close. You'll see.

Agree I played with one today and the blue looked nothing like those pictures. It is weird it can look so different in so many pics and videos.

Precisely. Those photos linked don't do either phone justice. Both phones are far more pleasing to the eye than the OP's snapshots in that SD thread. In fact, those are some of the worst I've seen for comparing the two. Doesn't show the "shiny/pearly-ishness" of the white, and it doesn't show the true texture on the Purp... err, Pebble Blue.

Gonna use it everyday, so you want to be happy with it or it will drive you nuts :D

The good news is that in my opinion, even with the button that doesn't quite match on the blue version, both phones are very impressive-looking. They definitely will look good and sharp in your hands, to most normal people with good taste. :D

I don't think so. Remember how much Sprint and Verizon differ with network service in general, especially when it comes to data.

We have to keep in mind Sprint kind of...well...sucks. So on the nations best network with LTE up and running, we may not have these issues.

I'm hoping you're right on this, too.

I really hope this doesn't have the verizon logo on the front like in the commercial I just saw....

Agreed!

I just wanted to throw my two cents in.

I called Verizon yesterday and asked when my phone will be arriving. I preordered day one and the pushed back dates online scared me. The rep I had very confidently told me, that I would be receiving my phone on July 9th, the date that showed up when I preordered the phone. She said that is the very latest as I could be getting it a day or so early via the mail.

I know these reps most likely don't know a thing, but they were extremely confident in their answer. So, here is to waiting patiently like a child, hoping it makes it to my mailbox before Friday.

ARGGGH!!!! I am leaving on the 12th, or 13th at the very latest for phase one OCS at Ft. Meade, SD. I really don't want this phone to get here the day after I leave. Would suck having to wait two more weeks to get to play with it. Plus, it would be really nice to have for the long trip. Also, showing up the day before I leave is bad, too. I am going to need all the rest I can get. Basically going to be 3-4 hours sleep per night, getting yelled at and cussed out constantly, ruck marching and doing land navigation until your feet fall off, etc. for two weeks. Ugh. :(

I believe the following link is a separate filing of preliminary injunction against the GS3 and not an add-on to the Galaxy Nexus ban request...
Apple denied stateside Galaxy S III injunction -- Engadget

Frankly, the sale of the Galaxy Nexus is a small fraction of the Galaxy S II. And the Galaxy Tab 10.1 sale number is very disappointing as well (although I love my G-Tab 10.1). So I wonder it might merely be a "consolation prize" Judge Koh is giving Apple, since she has denied Apple request to have preliminary injunction on the GS3?

There is one more week to go. I hope no more bad news from Judge Koh's court to derail the GS3 release.

Yeah, that article is horribly mistitled which understandably leads people to the conclusion you came to, but the article in its own convoluted way says that Judge Koh told Apple that adding the S III injunction would push back the trial date and Apple withdrew its request.

I think this Reuter's report is a better, although it kind of bounces between Koh giving Apple an option and Koh telling Apple no.

Im like 99% sure we're not going to be getting our phones this week although maybe they'll ship by Friday (doubt it) simply because the Incredible 4G is coming out this Thursday. Why those assholes* get their phones before us I have no idea, but thems the breaks.

*because they** get their phones before us
**by they I mean the people who walk into a store and pick up the phone since I dont think you could preorder the new Incredible.

Just to put to rest the fears about Verizon branding on the front, at a little after 7minutes into this video you can see a white Verizon S III:
