I don't see anything in the YouTube reviews about the camera being better than the orig Inc which I have now and am reasonably still ok with ESP since Verizon recently gave me a new one under ext warranty. If I thought the camera was an improvement (closer to iPhone quality) I'll get it soon. Any info on that?

you can shoot in 1080p video now. also you can take pictures WHILE video recording.

Review of the phone posted earlier today: HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE Review

I thought the number rating at the end was a tiny bit harsh, seeing as how this phone has a lot of clear similarities to the rezound and the htc one s. I would've given it at least an 8 or 8.5.

I'll most likely be buying this phone tomorrow morning. Being a fan of HTC sense I think I'd rather go for this than the gs3.

I'm liking how the phone looks in the photographs and am looking forward to seeing it in the store tomorrow. It'll be sad putting my original Dinc to retirement.

pretty quiet thread for being the night before release....i remember the original thread would tear of 15 to 20 pages a day....for weeks leading up to the release.

I don't think that we'll see another thread like that again. Mainly because of how much the android climate has changed. When the Droid Incredible launched, the only other android phones available in the US, if I recall correctly, the G1, OG Droid, Htc Hero/Droid Eris, and we were hearing about the EVO and a mystery device from Moto (Droid X). All there were for OEMs were Moto & HTC.

Today, there are at least 4 or 5 newer phones available when any new phones launches. Now for OEMs we have Moto, HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, & ZTE & Huawei if you want to import. And let's not forget the Nexus. While the Nexus 1 was out, at the time it was only available on T-Mobile. Now we should be able to count on a Nexus available on every carrier.

Those were fun days on the original Incredible thread, everything was amazing back then. Now with all of the technological leaps, it's easy to become jaded by the technological overload. But I'll always take more choices rather than fewer. Happy 4th everyone.

The Galaxy Nexus thread surpassed it in posts and views. Just saying.

Android excitement is far from over, it just moves to where you least expect it. ;) :)

Oh I know the excitement isn't over, but with the sheer number of phones out, it's spread out over more phones. It surprises me that the G-Nex thread surpassed the Inc1's, but since we were looking at the first Nexus on Verizon, plus the general excitement for new models for the other carriers, yeah I guess I can see it. The point I was trying to make is that threads of that size are probably only going to come around every couple years, because of the variety of phones.

I ran by the Verizon store right before they closed (holiday). They were putting the phone up for display as I walked in. I played with it for about 5 minutes. I currently have the inc 1....this phone is so much faster. I didn't check everything it had to offer as they were closing.

The store I went to said they only got 9 of them in. But marketing is on my side as there hasn't been much of it for this phone.

Anyway, I enjoyed the phone, definitely getting it tomorrow morning.

Incidentally, I didn't even see the phone when I got there.... The girl putting it on display had glued herself to it while attaching the antitheft device.

And Casio. They put out a waterproof phone.

Thanks, I knew i was missing one OEM.

Read a couple reviews tonight ( Inc4g on Phonearena & Phonescoop, & SGS3 on Phonescoop ). Both phones have drawbacks for me. From the sound of it the camera may be a little worse than the Rezound, 8gb on board kinda sucks, & PA said the battery life was 12-14 hours (PS said they got 30+ hours out of it). The SGS3's size I believe will be a drawback for me (however I played with a G-Nex the other day & it didn't seem to bad, maybe better than my Rezound), & no contacts widget. I use my contact widget probably more than any other app (other than dialer & browser) so that's a big deal, unless I can find a decent one in the play store.

While I'm still leaning towards the Inc4g, I believe I'll have to give the SGS3 a fair shot. I ordered the 32gb model, so if I can deal with the size & Touchwiz, I might own my first Non HTC smartphone. Plus, if I decide later to go for a used Inc4g, I'd have an easier time seling the Samsung to just about anyone. I'm just gonna have to see both in store to decide if what the reviewers said is true, and to what extent those issues are.

Ah, another member of the "Waiting for the SGS3 while still hanging around the Incredible 4G LTE forum" club.

That describes me too. I've got a 16GB S3 ordered and am looking forward to it but I can't stop looking at the 4G. I'm using an original Inc now and photos like the following have me leaning towards the Inc 4G and its one-hand-operation friendly design.

This might be late considering that the phone will be available to try out tomorrow, but if you can't get to a store and would like an idea of the width of the Inc4G, there is a proxy you can use. According to PhoneArena's size comparison tool, the Inc4G is the same width (and almost the same depth) as an ipod classic (the one with the small screen & the navigation wheel. So if you can't get to a store & have one of these around, that'll give you an idea of the feel in the hand. Happy Incredible Day.

EDIT: Just found out something else for those who have SGS3 preordered. Apperently the SGS3 will accept up to a 64GB microsd card. The Inc4G will accept up to a 32GB card. I was hoping the Inc4g would accept a 64GB, that would help with the 8GB of internal storage (from what I've read, it'll be partitioned as 3GB for the OS, 1GB for apps, & 4GB for personal storage). So that's a possible 96GB of storage for the SGS3, & a possible 40GB for the Inc4G.

At this point I don't know what to do. I have been loyal to HTC since I got my first smartphone, but a better camera & possibly over two times the storage capacity, I may have to switch. Touchwiz & the size (around a 1/4" wider than the Inc4g) still worry me, but it's starting to feel like I'd be taking a serious step back from my Rezound, & I'd rather not upgrade at all in that case. If only the Inc4g had better storage capacity & camera quality, it'd be a no brainer. But the more I read, the more unsure I am. DAMN YOU INTERWEBS!

Agree, it's not like it use to be and that was only 2 yrs ago when the origl Inc launched it was crazy and fun. That is why Verizon dropped the ball, they needed to make this phone stand out, in fact every phone needs to stand out now a days. Verizon could have included image sense, they could have added a feature to the Inc 4G that no other phone has or something that makes the public say WOW look at what the Inc 4G has, I want that.

The competition is getting tougher out there.

Don't let storage space worry you. You don't NEED to carry everything with you. The cloud will do it for you. Also you can access your home computer's memory remotely. Sooooo travel lightly my friend and carry a powerful tool.

I know I don't NEED to carry everything with me, but then again I don't really NEED a smartphone either. But I've got a lot of music, and what I listen to varies quite a bit, so I'd be constantly streaming or syncing my music from the cloud. Considering that our unlimited data isn't going to be here forever (this is Verizon) that would be a bad habit to get into. So at some point it may start costing me to access music I've already paid for, which seems stupid to me. So I'll always take a physical storage option over cloud.
