Help Low speaker volume on super duper HTC One X

Silly question but what do you use to back everything up?
All your photos, videos and docs can be transferred to a PC. Back up your contacts and app with Google
(Settings/privacy gives you the option to back up and reinstall apps).
I had low notifications, ringtones and music. Pretty much everything that came out the back speaker. I didn't buy the phone like that but just one day it happened. All is fixed now!

Have ya'll tried cleaning out your speaker grilles? Mine get very clogged with dust and it makes them much quieter, as well as making the notification light harder to see. I take a soft toothbrush and gently (or not so gently if you're me) rub over the speaker grilles until dust stops coming out. This might help.

I got my HTC One X in March 2013 and the volume was great. By June 2013 I could barely hear the person on the other end in a quiet room. The earpiece volume gradually got lower and lower. I called AT&T and the replaced the phone and I had great volume on the new one. Now in August 2013 the new phone has done the same thing. I called tech support and they had me do a factory reset, but I got no result from that. They are now sending my a new one again. Thankfully I'm still in warranty. If your HTC One X has low volume, get a replacement phone.

FWIW, I had the volume issue as well. Could barely hear the speaker and even the headphone jack was much lower than I would have expected. I took it to the AT&T store for exchange because the display was much louder than mine. When I did the factory reset to clear all of my data, the volume suddenly started working normally. I just kept the phone. Not sure what that was about, but the factory reset corrected the issue for me.
I'm nervous about doing a factory reset. Did it blow away your apps?
