Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

and now my ship date just went to 7/11. WTF. Did they run out of phones?

card charged yesterday.

preordered 6/12

Now people that ordered 2 weeks after me have tracking info? This makes zero sense.

edit now it's back to the 9th. haha Ok I might just step away from the internet and wait until I'm emailed.

Just got my shipping notification. It went out today, after being charged yesterday. VZW sent it out 2 day. IK a few people have had this happen. I thought all verizon phones were mailed out overnight. I am gonna call and speak with a rep. IK they cant do anything now but maybe I will get something free (or some money knocked off my bill).

Every other phone I have ordered from VZW has been overnighted automatically.

32gb, white arrived! Ordered 6/6 in the morning, shipped out of PA on 7/3, billed to my credit card on 7/3, and arrived at 1:30pm today.

Verizon really pushing the Backup Assistant Apps upon initial startup and I had to call the activation number (1.877.807.4646) after two failed attempts at activating through the phone.

The initial impression is that it's a really good looking phone. The screen is bright and crisp and I actually like the home button. Touchwiz isn't ideal for me, but it's not bad and it's a definite improvement over the GNex. The phone is very light, but somehow doesn't feel cheap. It's more sturdy than I was expecting and overall I'm really psyched to have it in hand.

Surprisingly, the phone immediately started downloading all of my apps after I activated the device. Since I want to keep it clean for a while, I just toggled off Mobile Data which interrupted the downloads. Once I toggled it back on, the downloads didn't restart.

Now I'm going to really play with this sucker! Good luck to all those waiting. I imagine you won't be disappointed.

Just a PSA. All you have to do to avoid this issue is to follow the directions on the instructions that come with the phone. It directs you to call an automated number to activate the phone. My account still shows unlimited data for both of my phones. Do not call the generic Verizon service line to get it activated.

I did call that number but it directed me to a csr after entering the password, I think I entered it wrong

Update: signal strength is def worse than my OG droid

Just checked verizon wireless's web site to insure I still have unlimited data and noticed this is blight green letters:
Eligible for a discount on 03/03/14 !

Note the exclamation mark! THANKS VERIZON!!

I ordered on day one my phone shipped on the 3rd... been on fedex facilitiy in memphis for 3 days ... yet others ordered much later some as late as the 27th , yet theirs ships today with overnight with a delivery date of Monday by 3PM , while i get the by 7PM time on monday.

I give up! :mad:

I going to walk my dog or do some house work ... or something I am done with this phone , it will get to me when it gets there peace.

I take back all my comments on my Monday delivery, I feel sorry for you, I ordered the 12th and you 4 days earlier and still nothing.

But when I called Verizon earlier they gave me a different tracking number that the web site also (I only wrote some of it down but the last numbers i did write down dont match the ones off the web site) but same delivery date.

so maybe just maybe this is one big cluster f~c? For Verizon and you will get it Monday but who knows at this point

Ugh, ordered on 6/12, got an email last night at 729pm that the order was on hold. A couple of minutes later my credit card called about a possible fraudulent charge. I okayed the transaction, called verizon right after and told them what happened, they ran the card again and said it went through, and that in about an hour I should have an email confirmation, it never came. I checked my credit card and can see the charge is there, however status check of order shows that my order is in processing payment not yet taken....and myship by date went from 7/9 to not available at this time. So I called around 1130 today and they said the order is paid for but not processed yet, I was hoping for a Monday delivery but that is quickly fading

Come on now. This is the kind of stuff that causes people to think the sky is falling. The number of bars on the display and the dBm is often subjective and not always indicative of the actual performance of the phone. Without some sort of explanation this will just cause more people to say "hey look, this phone signal sucks, look at all these bad reviews".

People who ordered on day 1 still haven't gotten shipping info, I ordered on the 20th and still no go either. I expected to wait a while for mine, but I'm peeved about you line jumpers :mad:

So I got my blue one earlier, strange it didnt come sealed. Followed directions no problems still have my unlimited data.

Still waiting on my white one, card was charged and for some reason chase called me and I had to verify it wasn't a fraud charge. However I dont have a tracking number but the order status page changed and tracking number is blank.

Mine got delivered today around 1:30 PM... Pebble Blue 16gb. Though I'm at work for another 45 minutes.

Ordered a 64gb microSD and have been using it in my DINC since I got it to make sure it works properly. I should be able to just swap out the SD and use it without having to reformat it correct? (if it makes a difference, my DINC is on ICS 4.0.4)

I'm wondering how long will it take for me to break down and root it (when roms are availble for the VZW handset that is). I've been using CM builds for well over a year so I've gotten so used to stock, not sure how much I'll like TouchWiz. May just end up tossing Apex until I can root it.

Interestingly the Verizon website still doesn't have a tracking number!
