Can anyone tell me how I'm able to back-up and restore through hboot recovery? I'm able to click on recovery then bypass the red exclamation point but after that there is no option to back-up and restore. Can I flash clockwork recovery without voiding my warranty and while the phone is locked or is there an easier way?

Thanks!

Stock hboot's and recovery's don't offer all the fun features of clockwork mod etc. You'll have to wait for an unlocked bootloader before you can put clockwork mod on a phone. HTC might do it through their site or you might have to wait for someone on XDa/Rootwiki.

If you unlock the bootloader you will void your warranty. I believe the HTC website does it with a method that is not reversible.

It depends on how it all works out as far as the unlock/root methods. The Incredible 1 had a unlock method that allowed it to be reversed. You could relock it, flash the stock rom, and verizon would never know the difference (you could easily get warranty work done on it if you put it back to stock)
