Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

Yeah, in another year or 2 Sprint will have their LTE going. I just have such good call quality with vz. haven't had a dropped call in 5 years. I can travel from Phoenix to Tucson (a lot of empty desert in between) and never loose my connection.

Sometimes I wish Verizon coverage sucked so I could hate them more.

then only time i ever lost signal was when i went to vegas on hwy 93 right after wikiup that stretch of desert on the mountains but even then i was still getting text messages coming in. yeah im in the valley too. :D

I called to ask about my shipping status since my CC was charged 24 hours ago. He said it's being processed but no shipping info yet. Then he said "let me see when it is scheduled to be delivered" "it should be delivered July 10th". HAHAHAHA.

I should have asked "how can you tell me when it should be delivered when you don't even know when it's shipping, you idiot"

Truly one of VZ's worst, just giving the company line without even realizing how dumb it sounded.

I won't say "Never" but it's pretty rare that I go to buy anything, be it a new car, a cell phone, or a lawn mower, that I don't know more about it than the person trying to sell it to me does.

I feel the same way lol. I've sold more Android phones and Macbook Pro's than numerous employees. I even sold my aunt on a laptop and had her ask me specific, albeit not that difficult questions about them that should would also ask the sales rep. He had no clue about anything, and that's an Apple employee who had to be trained before working there....Some people have no passion about products, and being a good salesperson. And then I wonder why I haven't gotten a job at Best Buy or Apple regardless of applying about 2 dozen times....Oh well.

On the other hand, I went into an AT&T store today to play with the S3 and two of the sales reps were watching me use it as if they had no clue what the damn thing was....Wish companies would educate their sales reps as to their products a little better

is it really taking that long? just checked my bank account and verizon just deducted the amount, I got all excited but apparently I still might be waiting a while huh. ughhh back to waiting i guess

Sorry I couldn't resist. Haven't seen anybody that purchased from BB getting any kind of info though. If you look at the ATT thread, BB seems like a real pain to deal with on pre-orders and am guessing people won't see their phones until the "official" release date. Sucks.


Rumor has it that Best Buy is gearing up soon to have pre-orders for the Samsung S IV starting Aug. 1 :D

Not to make anyone mad, but I think I currently hold the latest pre-order date with a pending shipping confirmation. On the 'Order Status' page, I now show a tracking number section w/ the "+" sign. No tracking number yet, but based on previous posters, I should expect one within the next 12 hours. I'm guessing I'll have the phone Monday.

Just updating my arrival of our 2 pebble blue S3's.

I saw that my S3's arrived at 1:03 pm but I was away working all day. I came home around 7 pm and was like a 2 year old in a bouncy house. I could not believe my eyes that this day had finally arrived.

The S3's are for my daughter and myself. My wife has my old LG flip phone from 2007.

Sooo, I open the box and could not believe what happened. There lies the S3in it's recessed pocket when suddenly it lights up (no battery in it yet) and the message appears on the display saying:

"Where the F*** have you been? I've been to Hell & back (Philly), just for you, and I finally get here at 1:00pm to put up with you're waltzing in at 7:00pm like a 2 year old in a bouncy house. I have good mind to take the next FEDEX truck out of here and go back to Philly where I may please some poor old Best Buy pre-order sap who will appreciate my presence."

I was taken by surprise with this and got down on both knees to apologize.

The phone has amazed me for the past few hours. The reception in my rural fringe area appears to actually be better than my rock solid HTC INC. I will be doing some more fringe testings over this weekend.

Can't wait to upgrade my wife now! No, I don't mean her old LG flip phone either.

My credit card was just charged. I ordered on the 20th through my phone account on the verizon site.

When I check my order status, it shows me something different now. Prior it would just tell me that my order hasn't been processed yet. But now it says it has been processed, but it doesnt give me a tracking number or shipping date. Those rows are blank.

This is a step in the right direction though. Hopefully it will get sent out tomorrow and maybe in my hands Tues/Weds.

I placed my pre-order for an SG3 32GB Pebble Blue on June 8th and my credit card was charged 26 hours ago; however, when I check the status online it still says "We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet." It's interesting how it can still say that even though my credit card was charged more than a day ago. In addition, the status online does not contain any tracking information or an expected ship date.

When I check the status via the telephone system, it says my order was processed and shipped. When I request tracking information via the automated telephone system, it says that the order has already been received and activated.

Verizon really needs to work on their IT systems. It is hard (almost impossible) to get an accurate status from them. In addition, talking to an actual representative on the phone did not yield any better information on my order's status so I'm still impatiently waiting for my SG3 and some kind of update with tracking information.
