Coolest feature you've found?

If it's a hit or miss function, I can do without. I can just take picture with the screen tap shutter button. I wouldn't bother to try and test and hold the phone closer to practice in order take a picture with voice.
Exactly.....

It's great for certain situations, as has been said, like if you're in a QUIET enviroment, and you want to hold the cam DEAD still to take the pic.

Otherwise - you'll just have to use it as a normal cam.

It's just nice to have that 'option'.... for when you need it!!

I found the only time I need this feature is when I want to show off to my friends I can voice activate the shutter. I don't think I can DEAD still to take picture if I have to shoot a few times. :O

It conforms to what I said at the beginning "...using voice to take photo is more gimmick than real practical use." Now I turned it off so it won't activate the microphone to save batter. :)

Whatever....

I think it's a really handy feature to have - and I've used it now quite a few times... (night shots....no flash??)

If you wanna 'show off' to your friends....you better take em to a library or somewhere to guarantee this 'additional feature' works for you ;)

But in real life, it happened several times the place is noisy. I keep saying "smile" and it won't fire the picture. I look like an idiot. My friend wonder does he really have to "smile" too in order for the camera to take that picture :/ >>

Luckily for those who don't want to use this feature, or for those situations where it's not practical, there's still the old fashioned way.

It does allow you to quote: use the quote button. But it won't add in the reason for editing. :p

Works well for me...... Used it a couple of times yesterday when with a group of friends I placed the camera down, we all got together and when we were all ready a said "Shoot".
CLICK.... job done.

I could not have got that same shot even if I had used a Timer Delay.
With TD shots you are still at the mercy of a specific time. However, with the speech feature you pick your own time simply by using the voice command.

I like that when I am connected to my home network the phone automatically searches for computers and displays thumbnails of pictures and music on those computers so I can surf those pics and play music from the phone itself.

My phone is showing my computer but no pictures (1000s on the pc though). How do I get the folder to actually populate with pixx?

OR - how do I just get it to no longer show the PC folder?

Story of my life brother.

I've was struggling with this for a while.. It won't load your thumbnails because the computer has so many pictures it takes forever to read them..

Apparently there is no feature to stop them from showing up, but what you can do is.. Go to your computer, the one that is streaming the pictures and block the phone from the stream.

Just find your phones MAC ADDRESS and block it via either windows media player or whatever software you use.

Easiest fix I've found.

I just discovered the briefing setting in the alarm clock. It plays your alarm ringtone for a few seconds and then computer reads the current time, current weather and the day's forecast, any appointments you have that day, and the top news headline. Reminds me of the first Iron Man movie when JARVIS pops online in the morning to tell Tony the time and current surfing conditions. :p

Help... I turned on this feature to check it out. Worked great. Then I turned it off. Now I hear the voice every time I have an appt in my calendar. Thanks for any help to get this turned off.

Didn't see this mentioned already, but noticed when I was on a call with my wife today that there was a little speaker button towards the upper right corner on the calling screen (you have to be on a call to see it). It is located to the right next to the picture of the person you are calling.

I've named it "Turbo Volume". It actually raises the volume even louder. So if you have your phone volume all the way up but your in a noisy place, tap that button and it get EVEN LOUDER! It goes to 11.

Nigel does an excellent job of explaining "going to 11."

Not sure if these are "cool"... but..

Holding down power button for 7-8 sec performs soft reset.. can come in handy if u want to reboot ur phone due to lag issues, or if u just want to fully clear your running applications.

While in phone dialpad, hit menu>settings to set your own phone call audio equalizer. There is also a "clear" feature in there. This Is also available more obviously for the music player as well.

Samsungs free photo editor is simply the best.. especially for a FREE app. I've downloaded countless amounts of pphoto apps in appstore for apple and this is better. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about this already, but just open a photo and click menu>edit. It will ask u to download.

Sorry if any of these are repeats, didn't have time to go through entire thread.

I put my name & house phone number on the lock screen (in case I lose the phone and for the finder to contact me). I put spaces between the letters and numbers to make them longer and thus they scroll to the left once the lockscreen is opened.
Do this under settings - security - Owner name

I also put a news ticker scrolling at the bottom of the lock screen

.

I don't have an edit option under the menu. I went to gallery and selected a photo. Hit menu and it gave me the following options (but no edit): Delete, Face tag, Copy to Clipboard, Rotate Right, etc., etc.
