Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

So do i need to buy a sim card, or will it come with the phone?

Mine was included. I think if they "know," probably based on your previous device - that you don't have one, they include it. Otherwise, you swap it from the old phone. It also appears that so far Verizon only had four 4G models previously - HTC Inc 4G, Razr, RazrMaxx, or Droid 4. Everything else (I would assume) needs a 4G sim card

Please keep things respectful between one another. I had to remove a few posts because it's getting a little warm in here.

I told 2 Horses to man up...I was only joking and think he realizes this as well...we've been in this same waiting game thread for some time now:D No disrespecting him at all but thanks for keeping tabs on the threads.

easiest thing for me was to activate online. Unl data showed up right there. Very easy

So you activated it online rather than the phone? was there instructions to do it that way, or did you figure out how to do it on your own?


P.S. The strangest thing is that my phone is going to get here before my case. I ordered my case over a week ago and it still hasnt arrived. Thought for sure it would get here before my phone.

No, not exactly. When you're expecting a newborn you're waiting in the maternity ward where you might hear a little crying and the occasional scream coming from the berthing rooms. There are a few nervous fathers and relatives pacing but for the most part everyone acts like mature adults. On this forum there are far more screaming and crying babies than ANY maternity ward. WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! I WANT MY PHONE!!! VERIZON SUCKS!!!! FEDX SUCKS!!!! THEY'RE GETTING THEIR PHONE BEFORE ME AND I ORDERED FIRST!!!! WA...WA...WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! ;):D

On truck for Delivery! Where is that happy dance smiley? :)

I normally send things to work but I could not due to the fires. My facility was shut down during the fires (returned for the first time since fires just today).

So the irony is this. I sent it to my home and have been working from home for the past two weeks. Yesterday I received notice that we are to return to work at the facility this am. Now I am at work and my delivery is "On Truck" and nobody is there to receive it. Gaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!

I left a note hope it works.

I also have another dilemma, I need to leave straight from work rush home and pick up my son so I can support a "Court of Honor" tonight for the scouts. Since I am the committee chair I "HAVE" to be there. So I will have to wait until ~9:30 pm tonight to even see the box. Unless on the couple minutes I am at home I grab the box and tune out a couple scouts while I start the charging :).

To top the day off I got to my desk (wanted to charge my ASUS tablet since it has not seen the charger for the past two weeks) and my charger was stolen by one of the workers the company hired to clean up our office so we could return. GAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!

Yes, I (and doit2it) have posted this before, but to help out those that haven't received tracking info YET and don't have the time to review the previous 88 pages in this thread, I will post this, this one last time...I promise (maybe).

If you haven't received any shipping notice yet. Follow these steps:
1) Check order page(s) - yes two possibilities here:
Check Your Status - Verizon Wireless
https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/screens/IconicSearchInit.do

2) As soon as one says "Your order has been sent for processing" or the other shows plus signs next to your tracking number then you are on your way to getting some good old fashion Samsung loving.

3) At this point I would also log into your banking site to see if payment has been processed. This may also give you some indication if your bank flags as possible fradulent activity. I actually called my bank to let them know about the charge and to please approve it if they hadn't already.

4) Wait another 2-10 BUSINESS HOURS to see if you receive a shipping email from Verizon AND/OR log back into the order system to see if there is now a tracking number.

5) If no to both of the above then follow the instructions below. Wish I could take credit but I can't so I'm just reposting:

FROM Doit2it - our favorite Fed Ex guy:

"THE FOLLOWING WORKS IN THAT SHORT TIME BETWEEN WHEN YOUR FEDEX LABEL HAS BEEN PRINTED BUT YOU HAVEN"T RECEIVED YOUR SHIPPING EMAIL. TRY IT IF YOU WANT.

For those if you that are like grossie and have CC charged, status changed, but no FedEx tracking number yet:

The reference number Verizon is using for the shipments is based on the Order location and Order number (NOT the preorder number).

Go to Verizon Status with your preorder number (or look at you order confirmation email the day you ordered).
Get the Order Location and Order Number

Go to FedEx.com Track by Reference page.

Leave Account number blank

For reference number try:
LLLLLLL_00NNNNNNN where the Ls are your Order Location (including and letters), then underscore and 2 zeros (OR SOMETIMES MORE), and the Ns are the Order Number. My order number was 7 digits. If your's was less than 7 you might try adding up to 4 zeros and try again.

Fill in Destination country and Destination zip code.

Let me know if this works, or if I'm just wasting your time."

Can't activate until midnight? Why not?

I called the number needed to activate your SIM card before turning on your phone, entered my number and billing account password, prompt said it didn't work and transferred me. Girl checked for me and said that the phone can't be activated on the network until midnight. It's a thing with the network she said.

Which doesn't make sense seeing everyone on here saying they can use it. I don't know what the hell people are talking about when they register online. You have to call a number to activate your SIM card...

HEY! When you get the phone DONT activate it!!! It WILL activate under the number you upgraded NOT the number you want. I am doing the same thing as you, I was told to go right into a Verizon store w/ my UNACTIVATED device so that they can switch it to the correct number in the system! I know going into a Verizon store sounds like the worse thing ever, but just let them do the work.. and hopefully not **** up! Or try calling from another handset.

Just don't try to activate right out of the box, it will activate to the original upgrade number!

I would recommend calling customer service. In my experience a CSR has been much more knowledgable and friendlier then any store help I have ever received. And you can stay home. Just make sure you have a second phone to use.
