Root [ROM] Nov-13 MeanROM ICS v6.3 | 2.13.651.1 | Mods | Batt saver | OC 1.7 Ghz

are you looking in the right file? it makes a .bak that isn't changed.

I am looking at the file in the guide, if it saves as a different one after modification and leaves the original alone then all good. I am a novice, so I just want to make sure I'm covering my bases.

You saved the file after right? I just did it using rootexplorer and it stuck.

MeanROM v 1.0 will have customizable Overclock built in :D

Yeah when I was backing out, I get promopted to save and was told original file was saved as .bk. The .sh remains unchanged then?

The .bak is the backup of the old file. The file you changed should remain changed.

I think it's good now, downloaded the full version RE and I think it was that Superuser hadn't granted permission to the other program. Line in the file is changed and the .bk is right under the original.

Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah the first thing I did when I flashed 1.0 was to go in and remove the oc on it. I was kind of surprised he did that by default but it was like that on the e3d too so I just figured he was keeping with past traditions. Honestly this phone runs so good I don't see a reason to oc it yet. I'll save that for about 6 months from now when I finally get used to everything and feel the need to breathe new life into it.

So far everything is great on 1.0. Mikey is really pulling out all of the stops with this one.

1.1 is out. Removal of cooked in OC and an updated app.

If your phone worked on 1.0 you can pretty much skip 1.1

Anyone having poor reception? I think this is on sprint and not the ROM, but I was just curious.

Had MMSs not come through and some really bad reception. Sprint is probably just being crappy.

I'm on 1.1.

Definitely notice the battery life has been worse lately when I am in 3g range and off wifi.

if you guys are in a future lte rollout area, that is almost certainly the reason. I'm in the la metro area, which is supposed to come online sometime in the fall if everything goes well, and I can tell they are doing a bunch of crap to the towers near me because my connection fluctuates wildly. I've stood in the same spot and watched the bars dip up and down, and my d/l speeds are varying between .07mb/s - and 1.5mb/s. but I'm cool with it if it means lte speeds in time for football season

Definitely seeing some change in the battery life, checked the root when I installed 1.1 and had to change it again to battery.

I live in the STL area and today for about 10am til 12pm Sprint's network was down Completely in my area. No 3g, no data, and you had to and voice calls were unable to dial out most of the time during that two hour period. Sprint had a recording when I called in stating that they "were aware of the situation and are working diligently to remedy the issue."

If yinz are having issues with your mabile data and / or reception, the first thing to always try is a PRL and Data Profile update.

Settings / System Updates / Update PRL

Let the phone do it's thing, and wait until the phone connects to the network again.

Then under the same menu, Update Data Profile.

Once again let it do it's thing and reconnect to the network.

These two updates a lot of times clear up little network bugs. Unless of course the network is acting up. We've had some really bad storm / tornado's blow through in the last week or so in WV / Ohio / Western PA. The network has been weird ever since.

Good ROM, and ridiculously good battery life. :D

If using v1.1 or 1.2, make sure you reduce your voltages to 130000 in the init.postboot script if intending to OC higher than 1.7GHz, or you'll bootloop.

My battery life is not that good right now. I am wondering if this is more on the sprint service. I am on wifi most of the time.

I am currious, how long will it be before we see a ROM with v1.22.651.3 as the base now that sprint is rolling out the updates? Also will the user data be erased with an update like that?

Take care, Chris.

As soon as someone posts the update for devs to get started on it'll come along very quickly.

Chances are there will be a lot changed so I imagine you'll need a full wipe. Such is the life of a rooted user. Just make sure to back everything up and the switchover is painless.
