If you Google Ontario CA and select the MapQuest return, it goes to Ontario, California, a suburb of East LA

This made me LOL a bit. You mixed your words.
"a suburb East of LA" is more like it.

When I think of East LA, I think of mariachi music blasting, street taco vendors, and lots of little tiendas.

Ontario on the other hand is a more upscale city.

Not true exactly.... Talked to a friend who works at verizon store as manager to try to settle my cancelled issue and was told they have limited stock on Tuesday and they are going to let them sell off what they already have now. They have an additional shipment coming in on Monday, but that is to be held for verizons launch day.

He doesnt go in till 1:00, but is supposed to hold one for me if they have some left and will try to talk to the person in-charge earlier that morning to try to have them hold one till he gets there.

Has anyone tried purchasing an S3 in-store today?

How did you manage to get them to tell you they have stock?

Calls to different stores, but I found out today the two where I live do not have them yet.

I am starting to actually doubt I will get the device this week and perhaps told BS otherwise on stores that "have" them. Lying for something so trivial seems...trivial.

By tomorrow night we should know if they will get them at launch. As I mentioned before if they don't have stock by tomorrow night I'll plan on being at Verizon before thy open.

The annoying thing for me is that my phone shipped yesterday 2-Day from PA, yet I'm about 50 miles southeast of Ontario, CA(lifornia).

please update with the time it took from being "on the truck" to "delivered"

There is a window of 2 hours where no one will be at my house, and I know that's most likely when the FedEx truck will come :|

I got my phone in 4 hours but i think it really depends on where you live and the route they take to deliver things. You can always try leaving a signed note like a lot of other people suggested.

My G is apparently sitting in Best Buy until Thursday. BB activates through the carrier and said they must adhere to the date. Same answer even from a dude in Hawaii at a Best Buy there.

I at least will get to test a Verzion GS3 today, but that seems sad while all the current GS3 users mock my brief interlude. Best Buy better have my preorder Thursday, or goin' gorilla.

I just spoke to a friend of mine who works at Best Buy. I've got some bad news, Rushmore... He said BB corporate has been monitoring your posts on this thread...They ain't happy. He said they are going to give you your phone tomorrow but it's going to be the one they've been using as a store demo and it's been dropped and scratched up quite a bit. And if you complain anymore they're giving you a Tracfone! ;):D

Mine is in my hands right now.

Too bad about the encrypted bootloader. It likely means I won't be keeping it. I know it has been hacked, but I hate the idea of that kind of a workaround, unless they can figure out how to actually overwrite the encrypted bootloader.

Does it really matter which tools are used? Of we can get past it, we're home free. From what I read this morning they have made significant progress so far, and the one dev who everyone is counting on to do the deed hasn't even gotten an S3 to work on yet. He's supposed to get it Thurdsay. I am very optimistic on this because of what I read. I think its just a matter of time now.

I shop online a lot. UPS, FedEx, and rural mail carriers each have a regular route they cover daily. When they arrive of course can vary due to many factors, but most of the time each gets here pretty close to the same hour each day. It would depend on where you live and when the FedEx driver passes through your area on his route. Sorry I can't nail it down.
