jellybean being pushed to gsm nexus starting now (link)

Yesterday I was trying the Google Framework trick and didn't get anything. The same with this morning, but when I got home today I tried it again and it's updating as we speak!

Interesting, I just tried to check for update and it said I was up to date. So, I cleared the data on Google Services Framework app, went and checked for update again, and it is now updating to Jellybean.

Also, just noticed a note where it is downloading (in darker type) that says "via Wi-Fi only until July 13"; so apparently if you want to check for Jellybean make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi.

I don't have it yet either. Makes you wonder what exactly Google meant by "over the next several days".

They'll push it out in groups I would think. Imagine what it would be like if they pushed it out to thousands upon thousands of GSM phones at once hehe. With Google pushing out this update to GSM customers, I dunno how or if they even handle help requests with faulty or trouble updates.

I believe with regular carrier OTA updates they will push it out in groups, and then wait to be hit with customer calls asking for help with screwed up updates. Once they're not over inundated with help requests they'll push out the next batch of the update. Rinse and repeat. This is why it may seem like it takes forever. They can't just push it out to every single customer at once because their call centers just can't handle that much of an overload if there were huge issues.

I understand that, just was wishing that they would have released a more specific timetable (we hope to have it pushed to all Nexus by...). Of course, it is moot for me now that I have the update.

Mine just hit right now. I got the notification screen, but I don't think it is loading because it says that it is WiFi only until 7/13. I will be home in an hour so I should download then. By the way, I did not clear my google data so that is not the key, and like I said, I am not on WiFi, so that won't matter either, until you actually want to download it.

I'm guessing there is some type of timer on the "Check Now" button, to keep from requests from hitting the Google servers every time that people spam their button. Instead, I'm guessing it only actually checks the server every few hours and, by clearing data, it resets the timer so the request actually goes to the servers.

Thank you! The wi-fi was the key for me. I've been deleting that silly data in the app section over and over only to see that I was still "up to date". Just flicked on my wi-fi and there it was! Loading now. :) This will keep me occupied until my N7 ships... whenever that is.

For the record, I was not at all implying that clearing anything will make the update magically appear...it very well could have been a coincidence, but right after I cleared Google services, the notification popped up. Your mileage may vary, of course. It seems Google is pushing the update to a lot more folks today, which is awesome

OK, so after getting the notification at work that it was ready and would only be avaiable on wifi, I get home and it tells me it is ready to go. So it does it's thing and then after the reboot, I get a message that volume+ won't start. (volume+ is a app I have) so I click ok and the phone finishes booting. But no upgrade. So I uninstall the volume+ app and shut down my phone and start it up again. The facial recognition is now off and my phone is still at 4.04. I go to check for updates and nothing.....

Clearing data on the Google Services Framework app worked for me too. We have two Galaxy Nexus phones here and I successfully updated both using this method. It took repeated tries, but they both eventually updated. We have two yakju version phones. We are on Tmobile. Jelly Bean is nice and smooth. "Google Now" seems really cool too.

This is nice!!! Hope everyone gets it soon.
